"The End of the Road" is a road adventure film directed by Ridley Scott and starring Susan Sarandon and Gina Davis. The film tells the story of the unhappy housewife Selma and the same lonely girlfriend, Louis, who went on a trip to the countryside to relax, but fled because of an accidental murder. The film was released in the United States on May 24, 1991. The film was nominated for the best film in the 49th American Film Golden Globe Awards.
Louise (Susan Sarandon) is a waitress in a cafe. She is busy all day and wants to travel. Her good friend Selma (Gina Davis) has been living unsatisfactorily since she married car salesman Darryl (Christopher Macdonald). She stays at home all day, lonely and bored. One weekend, under Louise's repeated persuasion, she agreed to go on a pleasant trip with her.
They parked their car at a bar in Arkansas for the night. The bar was crowded with young customers. The drunk Harlan took a fancy to Selma and asked her to dance. Selma refused to listen to Louise's advice, danced with Harlan and drank, and was taken to the parking lot outside by Harlan. Harlan was so passionate that he moved her hands and feet. After being rejected, Harlan became violent and tried to force Selma to submit with violence. Louise came to the parking lot and found that Selma was in critical condition. She took out the pistol that Selma had brought and placed it in her luggage, forcing Harlan to let Selma go. Harlan began to swear and insult them, and in a rage, Selma shot him to death. Suddenly, the two female companions took a vacation trip and embarked on a desperate journey that could not be turned back.
In the Grand Canyon of Colorado, Selma and Louise were determined to fight to the end and never succumbed. They smiled and clasped their hands.
After watching the movie, I really feel that this society lacks respect for women. No matter how advanced the society is, deep-rooted moral concepts hurt the interests of many women. We will see the term feminism many times in the future, because this road is still under construction. With more empathy and respect, there can be fewer misunderstandings.
There is no absolute equality relationship, but I don't want this balance (peer relationship) to deviate too seriously on one side.

To be honest, this is one of the rare Chinese translations of a few foreign films that you can see slightly...

2006-12-4 for the first time; 2021-2-17 for the second time; really good, I admire directors like Leni Scott, who constantly break through themselves and try new chapters.
