This is the label I give to this film. The story of this film is not complicated. The story looks at the chaos before the 1994 South African presidential election through the eyes of several war correspondents, between Inkata and Kosa, Between whites and blacks, between police and civilians, in that time and space, the anti-apartheid social movement in Africa is reaching its most intense climax. Stability, clashes happen every three days, and the film is recording such a period of time, this is the second film I have seen recently about the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa, the previous one was "Escape from Biller" Tolia", which is also a high-scoring film, comes back to the Gunshot Club, which is also called Bang Bang Club in English. I want to use two gunshots to write this review.
first shot
Greg was originally a documentary photographer. Because of an unexpected experience, he began to step into the ranks of war reporters. It is also the picture of the tunnel at the end of the movie, which is the beginning of its war reporter. Originally, the other three were hesitant to join it, but the photos taken that day were appreciated by Kevin, and they joined the Gunshot Club. Then, in a conflict, Greg took a photo that allowed him to get Puli. The photo of the man who was burned and then slashed to death, but because of this photo, he was intimidated by the South African authorities. When all the members gathered in the newspaper office, they pointed out a very important point, Reporters can't choose sides, they can only stay neutral. This is where every war reporter struggles. Should they take great pictures or help the victim they see right now. After winning the award, Greg did not stay in New York in the flowery world, but returned to South Africa to return to the club. Later, a newcomer joined the club voluntarily, but was shot and killed by a sniper gun that day. For Greg, With great inner shock, this is the first shot I want to say. War reporters risk their lives to go to the most dangerous places to take the most dangerous photos. Perhaps in the eyes of many people, it is just a photo. Who knows that this may be a photo recorded by war reporters with their lives. They, you don't know that in what we think is peaceful and prosperous now, a certain corner of the world is letting bullets fly, maybe the classic photo that Greg took for Kevin is the best example of a war correspondent.

second shot
After the Cainiao incident, Kevin was affected by drugs and was fired from the newspaper. He had to go to Sudan, which was affected by the civil war at the time, for an interview with Joe. Although the actual picture of the civil war was not photographed, Kevin did. When it came to "The Hungry Sudan", which made him famous all over the world but also controversial, Kevin also used this photo to win the Pulitzer Prize, the highest honor for photographers. He was affected by psychological problems. , but after the controversy caused by this photo, he chose to commit suicide and ended his own life. Many people questioned why Kevin would rather take pictures than help, or what happened to the little girl after the photo was taken, But in my opinion, this is just the tone of cruel villagers watching the fun. In the last pick-up before his death, the anchor asked about this photo, and Kevin replied that when you go out and see one, it is not good. Things, all we can do is take a picture and show it to everyone, but not everyone likes what they see. After all, as a photographer, all you have to do is take pictures. Maybe he couldn't save the girl, but what Kevin didn't know was that because of his photo, the international community paid attention to Sudan's problems, and Kevin saved thousands of them. 10,000 Sudanese children, I think this is the true spirit of war reporters. After Kevin left, the leader of the club, Ken, was hit by a bullet in a conflict and lay down in a pool of blood on the spot, still holding a With that bottle of Coke that Greg had risked his death across the street to buy. This is the second shot I want to say, since then, the gun club can be said to be disintegrated, several brothers who were born and died, suicide by suicide, shot by gun, even Greg was shot, but it did not stop Greg Ge and Joe continue to record the cruel facts with the camera under the gunfire, and they are still fighting at the forefront, bringing first-hand photos to the world public.

Two gunshots changed the fate of the four brothers, and perhaps the fate of South Africa. In those turbulent times, no one wanted to be the one who blocked bullets with their bodies. More often, these war correspondents were like us. They also have to pay their bills and they have to live, it's just a job, it's just a job that's more dangerous than ours, and their job is to tell a story with photos, like in an interview with Kay The article said that a great photo is to make people ask themselves, not just a spectacular picture. Just like Robert capa, who is called the greatest war correspondent, said that the camera itself cannot prevent the war, but the pictures taken by the camera can reveal the war and prevent the development of the war.

There are a few scenes in the movie that are quite interesting, so I will share them here.
1. The aforementioned Robert capa once said that if your photos are not good enough, you are not close enough. Just echoing in the tunnel at the beginning, Kevin told Greg to stop using long shots and use short ones instead. Quite an interesting passage.
2. When he learned that he had won the Pulitzer Prize in bed, Kevin saw a map of the South African continent on his right shoulder. Kevin is a person who really loves this land, but he was tortured by reality to death.
3. In a riot, Greg and Kevin smoked marijuana under a police armored car, Greg asked, there are police behind us, Kevin said in a calm tone, police, what do you think, these The bastard didn't dare to come out. The camera immediately showed the policeman who was slamming the car window. He really didn't dare to get out of the car. He only shouted in the car, which made me smile.
I have to say that the job of a war correspondent is really not easy to do. The photos are well taken, but there is no sympathy when questioned. The photos are not taken well, and I have no food to eat. I lost my life, may the world be peaceful, and there will be no disasters and wars.
