What we call belief, what we believe in, cannot all refer to religion in general. The beliefs of several people in the film are different, but their original intention to participate in the war is just that. Some people work for money, some people sing for the motherland, some people run for promotion, and some people insist on love. They suffer, struggle, hope, and disappointment in the smoke-filled pursuit of faith, retrying hope, and finally being abandoned by faith. This is the tragedy brought about by war and the tragedy of human destiny. Between the bright and the obscure, what we focus on is which aspect?
Stand for freedom, stand for the motherland, but, kind, tell me, where is the motherland? What is freedom?
