Although this is an anime movie, it is not suitable for children to watch. I rarely watch horror movies. When I saw this movie for the first time, I was taken aback. The idea of making a horror movie into an animation is very special. It can be said to be a CG animation that ruined childhood, a dark and terrifying setting, a man-eating monster house, and there is a haunted female giant in the house. Such animations are rare, and I feel that there is no previous Spielberg movie. style. After watching this movie, what impressed me was not the horror of the house, not the festive atmosphere, nor the ferocity of the old man. It was the old man's affection for the giantess. Although the old man recalled very little, he was noncommittal. I was moved by the deep affection between them. Between the old man and the giantess is full of sadness, fate is so unfair, the giantess is not bad by nature, she did nothing wrong, but just because of her looks, she was exhibited by the circus as a monster, bullied and mocked by everyone , and even rest in a cage. Finally one day the old man came to take her away, but her heart became extremely sensitive and aggressive. For her, the old man and the house were her whole life, and she had nothing but them. So she will do everything to protect her only hope and not allow anyone to harm her husband and house. She was just a little aggressive and did nothing wrong, and yet fate treated her like this, exchanging death for the pitifully little happiness she and her husband had. So she turned into a house. To be honest, she still didn't hurt anyone. In the forty-five years under the guardianship of her beloved husband, it stayed quietly and didn't take the initiative to attack any neighbors. Someone had invaded the lawn, and she thought someone had invaded their house to teach them a lesson. But then she had collapsed, and it would hurt too many people to continue. Like the old man said "We all know this day will come back sooner or later, right?", even before being blown up, when the old man was talking to her, she was awkwardly dented with a gentle expression. It was this expression that made me panic. . . . . . But there is no way, her existence itself is a tragedy, just because she is ugly. At the end of the movie, on that night when everyone else was happy to celebrate the festival, the old man stood alone in the pit of the bombed-down house. He had nothing, no wife, no home, or even a place to stay. Before, when the old man was hesitating whether to blow up the house, he said to the male protagonist, "If I let her go, I will have nothing." The boy didn't tell him "No, you still have me" but in the end Woolen cloth? The boys patted their butts and left, leaving the poor old man himself, what should he do? The fate of the old man is not explained in the movie, so it shouldn't be too good.

The editing and shot cuts are at a high level, and because of this, the hopes for it are high, and the story feels a bit anticlimactic.

Monster House quotes

  • Jenny: But back to business: eggs, shaving cream, toilet paper. Without candy, I'm afraid your house is a bulls-eye with shingles.

Zee: Nice try. It's not my house.

    Jenny: Babysitter?

    Zee: Mmm-hmm.

Jenny: Okay, let's cut the crap. Maybe the parents you work for left you forty dollars in emergency money...

Zee: Maybe they left me thirty.

Jenny: Maybe you give me twenty, I write a receipt for thirty, and you pocket ten.

Zee: Maybe... and I want two extra bags of peanut clusters.

Jenny: One bag, and I'll toss in a licorice whip.

    Zee: You're good.
