Regarding the play, I actually had a strong interest in the play before it was broadcast. It involved military, war, magical settings and changes in the real historical line, plus the sense of cruelty and crisis rendered in the propaganda film and introduction. , which big boy would not be interested in American dramas with this theme?
But to be honest, after watching the first two episodes, I am still quite disappointed... At most, it can only be regarded as a decent film. After all, I can't guess what the screenwriter will do next. The level of the second episode has increased compared to the first episode, at least one has the appetite to continue watching. So I'll give my thoughts on the first two episodes. You don't have to take it to heart, just watch it as a fun.
First, let's talk about the advantages. The first is the subject matter, which is very innovative and eye-catching. In most people's impressions, witch-themed artworks should be related to darkness, power, mystery, ritual and oppression. The witch frontline starts from a very unique angle, combining military and witches. The elements that come together are bound together, and it is inevitable that interested audiences will be imaginative. (Especially the necromancy in the second episode, I personally think that the most handsome intelligence reconnaissance method in all movies and TV series)
The second is the production level of the film. Let’s talk about the special effects first. I personally think it’s still very cool. It’s definitely worth watching, unlike some TV dramas that use magical special effects to entertain the audience. The war scene flashbacks and training clips inserted in the first episode are definitely worthy of a public relations stunt. With this as a good starting point, the soundtrack, transitions, shots and tones will be supplemented. The fusion of several elements is just right, so that the atmosphere rendering and scene creation in the play are very good.
The last is the casting and props. I have never seen the actors' acting skills go offline, nor do I feel embarrassed. Several main characters look very seductive, and their emotional performance is also in place. I don't think there is anything to say about the props. The combat uniforms and the uniforms are very good-looking. Several military vehicles that appeared in the play are also serving in the US military now, and there is no serious injury. (Anyway, it's over, and I don't know what to say to say what I want to express.)
The above are the advantages in my opinion, and then let's talk about the disadvantages.
First of all, there are too many illicit goods, there is a strong sense of sight in the election promotional video of a certain blond flying old man. As soon as I watched the first episode, I could feel the MAGAism and the anti-terrorist propaganda blowing into my face, and by the way, I slammed a few NQZY and LGBT ZZZQ cards into my face, and the insertion was very blunt. Yes, I understand that everyone in the film and television industry is trying to avoid stepping on minefields, and ZZZQ is really important, but why do you do this? To please certain audiences and attract more audiences? In my game, this is a method of tearing down the east wall to make up the west wall... It is inevitable that some viewers will find the other half's idea unpleasant, which is normal, but forcibly adding so many elements will only make people feel different And in the end it didn't interest anyone.
Then there are some issues of logic and character IQ offline, mainly concentrated at the end of the second episode (it can be said that the good impression that the second episode gave me disappeared instantly). First of all, is it even allowed to drink alcohol in the military camp? ? ? Even the new recruits who are called by the veterans every day know that drinking in the barracks is a big no-no, and the whole floor of TM is drinking and partying late at night... For me, I would have to send the gendarmerie one by one. God (by the way, the protagonist group quarrels during training in front of the instructors and a lot of comrades every day is really bad). And then at the end of the second episode, Sira had already explained in the first episode that she was fighting for the revellers, but she herself did not know what kind of people the revellers were, and she dared to speak to them so arrogantly, What capital does she have? I think this is completely the character's IQ down the line.
By the way, about the character of Tully. Her image is very typical, innocent, emotional, kind. In the first episode, an old man took the initiative to give up the plane ticket for her service. In the second episode, a little girl had a very pleasant interaction with her. The audience could also learn from her that Tully served in the army in his heart. And proud and really want to do something for the world. Then in the second episode, a man yelled at her and made anti-witch remarks, and Tully's character was shattered by the screenwriter without a trace? ? ? I understand that she is emotional, and I understand that she has not seen much of the world, but I think this is already a child's temper. All in all, the ending of the second episode was really disappointing (but to be honest, the little part of the heroine learning from her own boss really made me laugh).
(I have another question about the logic, but I'm not sure if this is the screenwriter's ignorance or simply the lower limit of the screenwriter's IQ. The weapon used by the American witch in the play seems to be a rope wrapped around a knife, and the reveler's weapon seems to be a magic IED + fist Kicks...I can't understand, so why not use a gun, a more effective and deadly weapon? The rope wrapped around the knife can indeed trap the enemy's actions and cause effective damage. There are indeed wind attacks and wind cuts in the play. Setting, but I think the lethality and stopping power of cold weapons are still not as good as hot weapons. There is nothing more effective than punching dozens of big holes in others. Of course, the screenwriter may also explain why witches love so much in the future, or why they must Use cold weapons, so this is just a guess.)
As for the pattern that many people complain about, I think we should give the show a little more time. Although the first two episodes didn't have much dry content, the rhythm was actually just right. Maybe this is one of the slow-moving movies. In short, the current level of the show is very average and even some places have serious flaws, but it is not impossible to watch. For the time being, I will throw a three-pointer here and wait for the next update of the show.
Thanks for reading.
