2046...

Sometimes watching a movie is like eating a big meal. Some dishes can be tasted immediately after entering the mouth, sweet or bitter, sour or spicy; while some are just eaten in one bite, but you have to taste the middle taste carefully. Wong Kar-wai's films belong to the latter. When watching "2046", I only take every scene seriously into my mind. Don't dare to mess around, for fear of missing a small detail. Wong Kar Wai's films are notoriously difficult to understand, so every time I watch his films, I always take them seriously. After that, it takes a lot of time to ponder the taste to know that they are mellow and strong.

"2046" is a continuation of "In the Mood for Love" to some extent. The image of the tree hole, the room number of 2046, the memory of Su Lizhen.

Do you know what a man would have done a long time ago if he had a secret. He would find a tree, dig a hole in it, tell the secret to the hole, and seal the hole with soil so that no one would know the secret.

This is the last shot of Tony Leung in "In the Mood for Love", and it is also the shot Kimura stubbornly insists on.

Tobacco seems to be a prop used by Wong Kar Wai. Faye Wong looked at the rising smoke, and exhaled a puff of smoke. Tony Leung always writes in the slowly rising smoke. Swish, swish. The tip of his pen swam quickly across the paper. "2047" dripped from the tip of his pen.

After 1 hour, after 10 hours, after 100 hours, after 1000 hours.

The icy robot just looked out the car window, climbed on the glass window with his hands, and touched the brilliance, the desolate prosperity. Kimura chose to give up after insisting again and again. "Whenever someone asks me why I'm back, I'm always vague."

1 hour later, 10 hours later, 100 hours later, 1000 hours later.

Tony Leung's nib was always hanging in the air, undecided, and finally gave up. Is that his uncertainty? The shadow of old Su Lizhen always flashed before her eyes. The beautiful faces in the late-night taxi quietly pass through the light and shade. "I finally understand that there are some things I can't lend to others."

Faye Wong practiced Japanese repeatedly in a well-lit room, babbling. Her heels slammed against the floor, and it was empty. She turned suddenly, and the heels rolled on the floor, making a smooth rubbing sound. She practiced in a low voice. The one that was said the most in the most determined tone was the one Yi-Ki-Ma-Shio.

Yi-Ki-Ma-Shio.

Let's go together.

She babbled in the wind at the beginning of the night. She read the letter slowly. She shook her head stubbornly. She helped Zhou Muyun write novels. She and Zhou Muyun chatted and laughed in the wind. On Christmas Eve, she happily made an international call to her boyfriend in Japan in the newspaper office, "Speak up, I can't hear you... Can you not speak Chinese..." I

feel that Wong Kar Wai is very good at digging into the hearts of actors Emotional director. Tony Leung, Faye Wong, Maggie Cheung, Carina Lau, Kimura. They all have a more special side under the darker lens. Just like when I was listening to Faye Wong's "Love" album, I suddenly found that every song has the shadow of Wang Jingwen in the film.

PS: It was an article written on a scratch paper after watching the movie in 2004. When I was going to do an English radio program recently, I thought of "2046" and this review. It’s an old work, so I found it and made it into a manuscript, and made some edits

2046 quotes

  • Bai Ling: I don't get it. Were does all that fun get you? If you find the right person, why waste time on the others?

Chow Mo Wan: If I find the right person? A man like me has nothing much except free time. That's why I need company.

Bai Ling: So people are just time fillers to you?

Chow Mo Wan: I wouldn't say that. Other people can borrow my time to.

Bai Ling: And tonight? Are you borrowing me, or am I borrowing you?

Chow Mo Wan: No difference. Maybe I borrowed you earlier, now you're borrowing me.

    Bai Ling: Ridiculous.

  • Tak: I once fell in love with someone. After a while she was gone. I couldn't stop wondering if she loved me or not. I went to 2046 hoping to find her there. But I never found her.
