POLAR (2019), Chinese translation is Polar Killer/Polar Line Killer.
Directed by Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund and co-produced by Konstantin Pictures and Netflix, the film is based on the comic strip "Polar: Came With the Cold".
As a web drama adapted from a comic, the biggest highlight is to invite Mads Mikkelsen, who won the Cannes Best Actor Award for "Hunting", to play the film's male protagonist Duncan. He played an elegant and gentleman villain, which is impressive, also known as " Uncle Pull ".
And Mads also played an elderly killer very naturally, with a slightly bloated body and a tired and stern appearance, all of which showed a battle-hardened old killer incisively and vividly.
The color matching of the film is quite biased towards the United States and Manga style. It is estimated that the director deliberately added black, white and gray color matching to the protagonist Duncan in order to highlight the conflict between the old and new factions, while the pictures of the supporting villains chose relatively bright color matching, showing obvious opposition.
The most outstanding part of the soundtrack is the part where the villain tortures the male protagonist. To be honest, this scene really irritates me. I feel nauseated. The pride seems to complement each other, and at the same time, Brute's metamorphosis is vividly displayed.
In terms of fighting, it is simple and rude. On the premise that the male protagonist is old and tired, it should be as reasonable as possible.
Among them, Xue Ye's counter-kill is the most brilliant.
The male protagonist not only fought back naked in the ice and snow, but also said the most handsome line in the whole play: "Try not to be afraid".
On the other hand, the well-known laser Gatling scene seems a bit perfunctory.
However, the biggest foreshadowing of this film, the girl's story line, is full of spoilers from the very beginning. The relationship between the male protagonist and the girl seems to be an unexpectedly extended love line, but it is actually the girl's trial and error again and again.
In the end, the female protagonist drew a gun and pointed at the male protagonist, and the final reconciliation was not surprising.
Here sympathize with the dog adopted by the male lead.
In general, put aside the comic style full of beauty, the imprecise plot and the plot full of spoilers.
Just as a pornographic film adapted from a comic, this film can really stimulate the nerves and make people addicted. Maders' naked appearance and brilliant performance are worth watching.
