Miss Americana

I rarely have any particular feelings about her except that I was once obsessed with "love story" when I was in elementary school, where my friend recommended her and I listened. I still fancy this song, reflecting pure, aspiration for love, innocent and gentle.

I had no idea what she has been through until I came across this documentary.

The admiration towards her talent and resistance still not change, but the stress of her eager to draw attention and be appreciated almost engulf her to some extent during 15 years. The efforts she made to attract everyone switching from country music to political—which doesn't t undermines her infectious music that much though—proved that she is still the little girl whose life was oriented with being favoured rather than a real queen who couldn't care less about what people think.

Eventually, it is necessary for her to take a stand and weaponize politics as she has to defend herself and figure out a way to keep her career alive. It is pretty sad though.

Anyway, the expectation I hold to her stays still, she is still an influential figure around the world, I just wish that she can get rid of the burden of being successful and loved, just be herself, and that's enough.

BTW, sydney is fantastic.

Just as the film went live on Netflix, the 18-year-old Billie Eilish swept the Grammys with a storm. The similar path to fame was even more unstoppable. In fact, the more suitable title for this film should be "Taylor Swift Starts Again". At the age of 30, you live more like a young man: start to blame everything, fight back, start not to pursue a harsh body, start to learn to express opinions, start to embrace your true self, from the country sweetheart of Nashville to the present Miss Americana, the second life can be said to have just begun.

  • Tree Paine: Okay, so, I always have to bring up everything that can go sideways - everything that we need to expect. Number one: the president could come after you.

Taylor Swift: Yeah, fuck that. I don't care.
