At 1 a.m., I watched the horror movie "After Turning Off the Lights" with the sound of water dripping from the toilet faucet. Because it was midnight, I never turned on the volume of the TV, for fear of affecting my neighbors and family members. The sound of water droplets was so clear in the silence that this happened for more than half a month, and was once thought to be the sound from upstairs. I went to the toilet to check twice, but couldn't find the source of the sound. This water drop sound is indeed a bit scary when watching horror movies.
Personally, I think horror movies must have three things. 1. The soundtrack. A lot of horror movies rely on this to scare people. A sudden sound during the quiet viewing process can also make people nervous. For example, "Under the Shadow" has two shots that are well used, the bread machine and the fist outside the window. As I read countless films full of antibodies, I was still startled. Most of the trash horror movies like to use this trick, and these horror movies will only use this trick. But it is indeed one of the must-haves. 2. Create an atmosphere. This space-conscious, such as the cave in "Darkness Invasion", the old house in "The Conjuring", the cruise ship in "Ghost Ship", the autopsy room in "The Unknown Woman", etc., creates a closed space where you can't escape. A screen of unknown darkness, guess what's there. 3. Resonance. This is the most important, the quality of a horror movie depends on it. First of all, is the story reasonable, is it a zombie, a zombie, a ghost, a monster or a perverted killer? At least it should be accepted by the audience, not a plot made up for the sake of storytelling. The story of "After Turning Off the Lights" at least has a reasonable explanation. Although it doesn't make sense scientifically, at least it tells us that it is a ghost, so it makes sense. After all, ghosts can't be explained. Whether you believe it or not, anyway, I believed. The second is the IQ of the protagonist. Every time I see the little whites in horror movies, I can't wait to rush in and help them. This is clearly not a horror movie, but a scolding movie that makes people feel embarrassed and have nowhere to vent. Sometimes, knowing that there is a ghost, but one or two people go there is an idiot's performance. Don't you know that it is difficult to find the police? Like the male protagonist, he behaves normally. If I can't figure it out, I will call the police. As for the consequences, I will leave it to the state and the people to hand it over to the party. I believe the organization will help me. solve everything. While the movie doesn't allow for such an outcome, at least it does.
"After Turning Off the Lights" fully possesses the above three points, so it can be regarded as an excellent horror film. The soundtrack is good, and the atmosphere is easily resonated with the daily home and house as the background. If you don’t believe me, turn off the lights after watching the movie and see what’s under your bed. The third point is the same. I remember when I was 5 years old (I have a long memory, how old is your most primitive memory?), I urinated in the middle of the night. My mother got up and took me to the toilet. At that time, the toilet in the house built by the family was very large, not the kind of commercial house with three, five, six, seven, eight, nine square meters today. After I finished urinating, I turned around and saw a figure in the corner. I pointed to the figure and said to my mother, "Mom, what is that person standing there for?" My mother had just woken up and was very confused (the mother was not yet 30 years old at that time), she looked up, pulled me up and ran, that speed should be very fast (later asked my mother about the shadow area in her heart) , it can make the earth dark). I rushed into the bedroom and called my dad, get up and have a look. My dad was woken up and turned on the light helplessly to check. It turned out that the mop was upside down on an upside-down bucket, and there was a long towel hanging behind it. It looked like a little old man standing there bent over in the dark. A false alarm. That scene is still fresh in my memory, as if at the beginning of the movie, the female office clerk found a figure in front of the glass door after closing the door. Makes my back go cold. God, my back is getting cold, I laughed at Sadako, kicked the curse, can walk zombies, the hero who planned to raise monsters, actually felt scared, and quickly smoked a cigarette to suppress the shock. I finally saw a horror movie that scares me. It's been like "The Conjuring" since the last time. It's a pity that the stamina is not enough, and I can't find the frightening clips again after that. But that doesn't stop it from being an excellent horror movie. Because this movie will make you inadvertently go to see the moment after turning off the lights. I don't know which corner of the room, there is someone quietly squatting there, looking at you with hopeful eyes, please, let's be friends good or not?
So, are you afraid?
