The show's title, "Babylon Berlin," has always fascinated me, for reasons other than the same initials.
At first my boyfriend suggested that it might be a metaphor of "Babylon's Babel", but I checked and found that the word in German is Babel, not Babylon.
Among the German results for Babylon today, I think the closest thing to the aggregation is Hure Babylon, the Babylonian whore in the Bible.
Hure Babylon is depicted in the Bible as a prostitute with fancy clothes and jewels, colluding with the kings of the earth, surrounded by rivers, but the final fate can only be eaten naked and then burned.
Many people think that Hure Babylon represents a "pagan" or "cult". It was also described in the episode "Babylon Berlin" that in Germany before World War II, people with different beliefs and different beliefs moved towards their own ideals.
But the cover of the episode is made in the shape of an eye, and I can't find any information about the compound plot related to Babylon Augen. What exactly does Babylon refer to? Comments and discussions are welcome.
thanks.
