I remember that the feeling after reading the first part was that I was very worried and felt that my soul was being tested, as if it was me who played the game (fortunately not me), and at the same time it was very thought-provoking-cherish life. When I watched the second part, I guessed from the beginning that Amanda Chainsaw’s accomplices and children will not die, and his father is the one who conducts the test. So the second part didn't feel much; the next third part, to be honest, I started to be disappointed from this step. By the time this one, no doubt, my confidence in continuing to watch the chainsaw has almost been blown.
Morally speaking. The topic of cherishing life is our recognition of the cruelty of chainsaws, and at the same time, only oneself can save oneself is a kind of acquiescence to the methods of chainsaw. But this understanding does not mean that we have denied all other practices.
At the beginning of the third part, we saw it-the rules of the game began to change.
1) The people who passed the game are basically dead. The coroner Kerry, his chest was torn after getting the key; the police officer who saw his feet off; the photographer Adam and so on were all dead.
2) Many innocent people began to fall prey to game testing. Including doctor Lien, judge and so on.
3) Many people died unclearly, including the staff who made transcripts at the crime scene were shot to death with iron rods, and the assistants of FBI file detectives.
4) The chainsaw cannot save anyone. Amanda, the only one who passed the test and finally survived, also died. The spirit of the chainsaw only infected her half. Amanda joined the ranks of the chainsaw, but she did not have the spirit of the chainsaw. She killed all the people who passed the test like her. To be honest, she just fell in love with killing (this may be a reason why the chainsaw added forgiveness and rescue in the test). In addition, many people who passed his test failed to get rid of their bad deeds in the end. They are only able to weigh the pros and cons more rationally at critical moments.
5) Those who were arrested for testing no longer have an obvious vice as before. They may be due to small daily mistakes or other eye-catching problems. The results were all caught for testing. Including the police officer who is eager to save people in the fourth part. It's really pitiful. He just wants to save people. At the end of the movie, I always feel that everyone may be caught for testing at any time. I feel that this has violated the original intention of the chainsaw.
In short, the founder of Chainsaw is dead. His career has been inherited again. But their purpose and principles have been distorted.
