I watched a movie in my spare time and wanted to write a movie review today. That movie was called "Where'd You Go, Bernadette". Starring is the famous Cate Blanchett.

When I first watched it, I thought it was an ordinary plot: a heroine who seemed to have psychological problems gave up her ideals and career because of the difficulties in her life. She has become a housewife and has not worked for 20 years, doing everything for her 15-year-old daughter, little girl Bee. The mother-daughter relationship is very good, like friends. Bernadette's husband goes to work every day and rarely communicates with his daughter. It looks like an ordinary family.

But this movie attracted me from the very beginning, and I honestly don't know why, so even though the plot was pretty ordinary, I kept watching it. When the end credits appeared on the computer screen I knew I would be watching it again tomorrow.

But why on earth do I love "Where have you been, Bernadette" so much?

1. The heroine. She has loose hair most of the time, jerky movements, fights with neighbors, and while Bernadette isn't ladylike, I also love her persistent personality and flawless style. Bernadette is no ordinary person, but a genius architect. She sees architecture as art, she is a gifted artist. The habit of wearing sunglasses all the time and her love for fishing vest clothes are, for me, her most distinctive style. Besides, Cate Blanchett played the role very well.

2. Bernadette has a lot of problems, in addition to rarely contacting her husband and getting along with her neighbors, she also has her own nervousness. But the film shows that one's own faults are one's own responsibility. It doesn't want to blame the social world and family for the blow received by the heroine. Bernadette came to understand that it was useless to make others account for their own successes and failures.

3. The relationship between men and women in this film is one of the best examples of overcoming differences and communication barriers. Bernadette and her husband seem to have a mild relationship at the beginning of the film. Then we can see their various problems, and distrust is one of the biggest problems. But in the end they didn't break up either, instead the relationship strengthened as they finally started to look after each other.

4. Cate Blanchett I don't think there's a lot to explain. Cate Blanchett is just Cate Blanchett, she is the only one.

5. Billy Crudup. handsome. Ha ha.

6. At one time, a fishing vest.

"Where have you been, Bernadette" had a strong influence on me. I hope you guys enjoy it too.

Where'd You Go, Bernadette quotes

  • Bernadette: I'll figure it out. I mean, that's what insomnia is for.

  • Bernadette: I guess I just wanted to leave LA in a snit, and when I determined that everyone felt sufficiently sorry for me unfurl my cape and swoop in to launch my second act and show those bastards who the true bitch goddess of architecture really is.
