Struggling in political reform, the love of three people

I burst into tears after reading it. In such an era, freedom and love cannot have both. Denmark in the story is ruled by cruel laws, the nobles make laws arbitrarily, and the people at the bottom are like their slave pigs and dogs.

With the flame of reform in his heart, the male doctor entered the king's side, hoping to carry out the reform of the New Deal. He chose to let the king regard him as a confidant, and then guided the king to build a beautiful and free country. And he has also succeeded. The crazy king who has been acting has even resisted the entire noble class for him, and is even more willing to obey him. The new order of reform is being issued step by step.

Just when everything was going well, the doctor inevitably fell in love with the queen. The queen was engaged to the king since she was a child, but she was disgusted by the king's madness and ecstasy. Since she met the doctor, she fell in love with this mature, prudent, open-minded man who wanted to make some changes for the people at the bottom. They knew it was impossible, but they were attracted to each other in the end. Their love was the unity of soul and spirit.

However, tragedy also came from this. If the doctor did not fall in love with the queen, he would not have been easily seized by political opponents and forced to the guillotine by public opinion and righteousness. On the high execution platform, there were crowds of civilians watching the fun. They didn't know that this person on the execution ground could have been their hope. When the doctor was covered in blood, he looked at the applauding crowd below, recalled the smile of his beloved, and cried silently.

The king in the movie is also a tragic figure. He was a puppet emperor from a young age, and it was not until he met a doctor that he had the courage to pursue his dreams and reforms. After he rebelled against the aristocracy for the first time, he was excited like a child. He regards the doctor as a confidant because no one has ever listened to his mad words, his inner thoughts. He should love the doctor, so he can let the doctor's decision infinitely. He just wants to realize the ideal country with him. With the doctor, he seems to be willing to do anything.

It is a pity that the doctor does not love him. The doctor has gratitude and friendship for him, but this relationship is not equal. Because of the willful character that the king has suppressed for a long time, the doctor feels more like accompanying a child when he gets along with him, just for the sake of Use the king's power to help him reform. The doctor and the king don't really have the same soul, and the purpose is different from the beginning. Even when the king knew of the doctor's affair with the queen, he was angry that the doctor loved the queen more than himself. He easily forgave the queen not because of her generosity, but because he never loved her. He was hysterical like a child, thinking that being abandoned and used was due to the unequal status of each other in their hearts.

Forced to sign an arrest warrant by the nobles, the king felt powerless, and he ended up alone. When the doctor was executed, the king was still in the dark, thinking that he could still save the doctor, and was still imagining how the doctor would react. The dust settled, when he learned of the doctor's death, he seemed to have really become a marionette in the courthouse, his heart was ashes, and he no longer pretended to be crazy and foolish. Knocked down, as if it matured overnight.

It seems that the three of them have been pushed by the wheel of class struggle, but the ending is full of hope. Although the flame of freedom and reform has been suppressed at this moment, the will of the flame has been passed on to the next generation.

A few years later, with the help of the old king, the prince finally succeeded in a coup d'état and seized power. He drove out the dictatorial nobles and completed the reform of human rights, which made Denmark shine in Europe. When the dawn fell on the earth, did the old king see the doctor's young face through that light?
