The end of the film-they both left two paths for themselves

When the movie came to a close, Mr. Brooks came to his daughter’s room as always, but was stabbed to death by his own daughter. When I saw this passage, I suddenly remembered what Mr. Brooks said when he killed the amateur assassin. He said he wanted to see his last The ending. At that time, I thought this was the ending of the film. It was very dramatic. As Mr. Brooks woke up and panted and prayed to fall asleep again, I suddenly felt, is this a choice the director of the film gave me? It's like Mr. Brooks silently took the bullet of an amateur killer and prepared a pistol for him. The moment he pulls the trigger, he has to decide for himself whether he should let everything end here! At the end of the film they both left two paths for themselves.
