Bradley mine in turmoil

Thousands of fucking families knocked down their asses. And it's just a big wheel that goes around. Liberals add sanctions. Conservatives remove those sanctions. They just keep fighting, cause all they want to do is to hear themselves talk. They all want to be right. They all want to win. That's all they fucking care about. And there's a human cost. And it's exhausting! I'm exhausted!

Bradley came on stage to give such an energetic speech, which really fits her not aggreeable character. Her friends commented on her before: "You don't push back. You incinerate. Everyone says it. You fight everyone on everything." Later, when Bradley was interviewed, he looked back at his video and lowered his head in shame hhhh

I am fucking agreeable!

Alex turns the tide

Good morning. I'm bringing you some sad and upsetting news. Mitch Kessler, my co-host and partner of 15 years, was fired today for sexual misconduct.

First and foremost , I want to offer our sympathy and support to the women. We are devastated that this happened on our watch, and our hearts are with you.

And to you at home, I understand how you must be feeling because I and the whole team here at The Morning Show are feeling the same way: shock, disappointment, disbelief.

While I don't know the detail of the allegations, I understand they were serious and that that keeping Mitch on was not an option. We know he was part of our family, of your families. We will all miss that person.

But there are consequences in life. As a woman, I can say there often aren't enough of them. While I will miss the Mitch I though I knew with all of my heart, I am proud to work on a network and live in a country that upholds consequences.

So please have patience with us as we find our footing in the nest few days. We will bring you the news as always and share any news we have with you. Your are part of this family and we will get through this together. We' ll be right back.

Straight to the point, explain the incident, express condolences, resonate, explain the situation, and express determination. All in one go.

The rave reviews:

That was beautiful.

Boss' evaluation:

She's on fire today! It turns her light on. “brilliant light”

Apart from

What a load!

When Bradley said this, Alex was reassuring viewers that the investigation into the sexual harassment incident would be fully informed. Bradley, on the other hand, remains skeptical of the transparency of the press, which she also mentioned later in the interview.

Alex interviews Bradley

Alex: You know a peculiar amount about coal.

Bradley: Yes, I do. I've actually covered a lot of coal mine protests. I think it's important to know as much about the subject as possible, especially when some people are literally fighting each other over it.

Alex: Yes, America has clearly connected to that message . Why do you think that is?

Bradley: I think America is tired of Twitter fighting . It's ignorant and it's contributing to the dumbing-down of our country. Parties have created a good side and a bad side for their own purposes. Once you villainise someone, there is nothing left but go to war with them.

Alex: I know you work at a conservative news outlet. What side of that argument do you personally fall on ?

Bradley: The human side.

Alex: What does that mean?

Bradley: It means I see both sides.

Alex: But in leadership , decisions have to be made. You can't just have empathy for everybody and do nothing. Say you are president, what do you do? Open or close the coal mine?

Bradley: I'm just here to deliver the news to America. That's all I've ever wanted to do.

Alex: So you are a die-hard reporter.

Bradley: I'd like to think that I am. Yes, the truth matters to me.

Alex: What would you say to the idea that it is a reporter's sacred creed to never let the story become about them?

Bradley: I would say I agree with that.

Alex: And yet this has become about you? (The atmosphere was awkward for a while)

Bradley: As I said before, I didn't know I was being filmed. This isn't part of my live coverage .

Alex: There cols be some cynical people who might think that that was completely set up.

Bradley: To what end?

Alex: You're here. (Still still)

Bradley: There are some non-cynical people, which I believe is most people , that believe the news is changing. The news is changing because of the people who deliver the news, who showed themselves as honest, decent and trustworthy, have in quite a few cases now proved themselves to be untruthful. As a result I think people are wanting more transparency in journalism. I think they want to know the person behind the facade. I think that they want to trust that the person who are telling them the truth about the world is an honest person, like you.

Alex: Yes, truth is what we are all striving for.

Bradley: Yes, it is.

The long sentence Bradley replied alluded to Mitch's sexual harassment scandal. Not long after the incident, Alex and Mitch were old partners who had worked together for 15 years, the CP in the show, and the two were veterans of the show. Mitch's sexual harassment didn't happen in a day or two. It happened, but Alex didn't know it. Outsiders naturally wondered whether Alex was covering up and condoning this behavior. It's always been a big blow for Alex too.

Therefore, Bradley can be considered to have found the other side's weakness. At the same time, it can also explain why Alex got up early the next day to go to Mitch to get angry, because Mitch made it too difficult for him to get along, and he could be caught by people during an interview.

Program Producer Dialogue Department Director: TV Press Retreat

Cory: It's kind of funny, you know, how the entire world of broadcast could just fall off a cliff in a few years. Like, boom. Bang. Lights out. Unless we reinvent it. We're all gonna get bought out by tech , unless something changes.

Chip: I don't know. Tech or not, there will always be a need for reliable, quality journalism.

Cory: People get their horrible news delivered in the palm of their hand 24/7, and they get it in the way they like it, colored the way they want it. And news is awful, but humanity is addicted to it. The whole world is depressed by it. That's what we really need on television right now. It's not news or fucking journalism. It's entertainment. This is just like during the Depression when people wanted to watch Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dance on expensive sets and live in a dream world. Dream worlds are essential. Depressed people, they need escape, you know. And how long do you think the network rode the sexual chemistry between Alex and Mitch? I mean, sure, people wanted them to be mom and dad, but people they also want to betitillated , and there is some unspoken sexual fantasy to cohosts, right?

Chip can't say enough:

Yeah, it's a cold world.

Big guy or big guy:

Well, it's just the world it is.

Award-winning Director Speaks out about Sexual Harassment Allegations

Director: I've never sent a message that I thought was inappropriate.

Mitch: These women who have come forward did think it was inappropriate. Do you think that that's valid? Do you think their response is valid?

Director: Of course. But these women never complained to me about this behavior.

Mitch: Yes, but you were their boss. You were in a position of authority. Do you think that you created an enviornment where they felt comfortable coming forward?

This section is so beautifully designed. It starts with a show producer watching this previous video of Mitch interviewing a major director who has been accused of sexual harassment. The interview with the director of Zhongda was still full of innocence, and Mitch was righteous. During the video playback, a PA suddenly walked into the office, locked the door, and hung up on "Daddy" to play role-playing. But "Daddy" was scared. "I know that. You know that. Nobody else would know that."

This shows that when the Mitch incident broke out, other senior male executives who were entangled with female colleagues in the TV station also began to be alert. After all, it is difficult to provide evidence for sexual harassment, but after the Me Too movement, public opinion was obviously biased towards women.

Mitch is determined to resist

Mitch: I am as innocent as any straight, middle-aged man there is. The only problem is, that seems to be illegal these days. This is McCarthyism , you know it. Everybody knows it but people just don't have the intestinal fortitude to say it out loud. I'll say it. We're being too fast to judge men in the court of public opinion.

Chip: I agree with you, okay?

Mitch: The whole Me Too movement is probably an overcorrection for centuries of bad behavior that more enlightened men like you and me had nothing to do with.

Chip: But Mitch, do you really want a detailed probe into your private life?

Mitch: At first they came for the rapists, and I didn't speak up because I am not a rapist. And then they came for the powerful men, and you didn't speak up because you're not a powerful man. But what are you going to do when they come for the ordinary, everyday, run-of-the-mill creep like you, Chip? Who's gonna be left to speak up for you?

McCarthyism: From 1950 to 1954, the typical representative of anti-communism and extreme right in the United States originated from U.S. Senator McCarthy. It maliciously slandered and persecuted suspected Communists and democratic progressives.

Mitch's last words were adapted from the inscription on the New England Holocaust Memorial:

THEY CAME FIRST for the Communists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.
THEN THEY CAME for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.
THEN THEY CAME for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.
THEN THEY CAME for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.
THEN THEY CAME for me,
and by that time no one was left to speak up.

Mitch always brings Chip in his words, is he cheating too?
