I read the book when I was a child, and suddenly found out that it has been made into a movie.
The background of the story is in the old English countryside. I didn't expect it to be grand, but the oil painting in the movie is as elegant and simple as it is. (Compared with China, the British classical era is indeed less gorgeous and a little simple, and it can be seen from the labor force hahaha)
What I like most is that some of the details about beautiful dresses, small snacks, and cute animals in the book are restored well, and I don't think they will destroy the original work. There is a little magical surprise at the end, which looks good.
The book was written relatively early, but Maria's bravery, kindness, and sense of responsibility, I don't think it's out of date for a little girl to read now.
