Five stars for the best kung fu movie. Years later, I took advantage of the NCP epidemic to watch it again, and saw too much content that was overlooked in my childhood.
1. Nation
There is no need for me to elaborate on the nationalism of this film, and the writing is limited. In fact, it is the weakest part of this film. It is more than a little worse than several Ip Man films. It did not cause much excitement and indignation. Maybe it is the reason why I am getting older? Only one line, which I don't know if it is a metaphor, was impressive in this review. Photon and Chen Zhen complained about mice in the thatched hut in front of Huo Yuanjia's tomb, which was very annoying.
Chen Zhen: There must be mice in this kind of place.
Photon: That mouse is scary, it's harassing me.
Chen Zhen: The mouse moved in first. Actually, we harassed it first.
This conversation took place between two couples who were deeply obstructed by the righteousness of the nation and could not fulfill their love. It is really intriguing.
2. Martial arts and martial arts
The great part of this piece is that, firstly, the different schools of Chinese and Japanese martial arts are displayed almost completely through the characters, and the second is the discussion and presentation of martial arts. In my impression, none of the other film and television works can be compared.
1. Martial arts
It is said that Wen Wu is the first and Wu Wu is second. Chen Zhen, who finally won in the film, is a combination of strength and flexibility, and Chinese and Japanese martial arts. When it comes to martial arts, everyone's first reaction must be "who is more powerful" and "who will win if they fight each other", which is also used a lot in the film. For example, who is "Japan's No. 1 master", Xiaohong came to Jingwumen and asked the question "Is Tingen the best in Jingwumen's martial arts? How does it compare to Chen Zhen?" But the above discussion is limited to martial arts.
The same martial arts are used by different people, and there will be highs and lows. Just like in the same class, there will always be good students and bad students. How good a student is and how bad a student is can’t represent the level of the teacher. In the end, Chen Zhen won, not all relying on Chinese martial arts, and even incorporating some karate skills. I think this is also one of the meanings this film wants to express: there is no difference between martial arts itself, but the difference between those who practice martial arts. Closer to the spirit of martial arts, it should actually be the battle between Chen Zhen and Funakoshi, and the battle with Fujita Go, more for the dignity of the nation, a struggle, a battle.
In addition, have to admire the wonderful design of the film. Chinese martial arts are relatively heavier in moves and cultivation, and are relatively soft. It can be seen that except Chen Zhen, other members of Jingwumen are mainly made of cotton or silk Tang suits. And Fujita Takeshi is a military uniform that looks like canvas hardness, long leather military boots, sharp edges and corners, and powerful moves, showing the ultimate fighting skills with every punch and kick. Chen Zhen, on the other hand, was wearing a straight tunic suit, which was not too soft like silk, nor too rigid as a military uniform. Mr. Fumio Funakoshi is even better. Although he wears a soft kimono, his hairstyle is particularly angular, which also implies that although his martial arts style is rigid, he is humble and kind, and his martial arts cultivation is quite high.
2. Martial arts
The film borrows Mr. Funakoshi's words to express the creator's understanding of martial arts: "The goal of martial arts is to push people's physical ability to the highest limit." When I saw this sentence, the first thing that came to my mind was the Olympic slogan of "higher, faster, stronger". I think these two sentences are exactly the same goal in the pursuit of the human body between the East and the West.
The latter line is even more intriguing: "If you want to achieve this state, you must understand the universe." Although it sounds a bit illusory, it reminds me of a sentence: "The ultimate science is philosophy." No matter what is done to the extreme, it must be a return to the basics, just like all matter in this world, including the human body, is composed of some basic particles. If you can penetrate the mystery, you will also understand the universe.
3. Love
