wonderful murder story

It is a delightful experience to choose a black and white Hitchcock film to watch on a lonely night. The small American town in the 1940s was peaceful and quiet in the light and shadow of black and white, but a typical middle-class family was turned upside down by the arrival of a relative. The super handsome villain, the beautiful heroine, and the well-designed murder make people immersed in the plot and worry about the fate of the heroine until the last moment. The protagonists with the same name, the two men who are keen to discuss the perfect murder, and the two brothers and sisters who have ghostly characters, are all very interesting. Both the murder on the train and the shocking reversal are shocking. Watching a Hitchcock murder movie in one's own time is definitely a wonderful experience.

19110# Was Park Chan-wook's "Stoke" prototype? It would be more interesting if the final ending was not clear (probably not in those days). The naive girl at the beginning and the later transformation are also quite interesting. Funny little girl with glasses. There is no definite evidence but a person is convicted. Why can't I believe my uncle? It's funny

The performances, lines, and characterization are all remarkable. A number of supporting roles and a lot of bridges have their own interests, but at the same time, the price paid for them is the thinness of the main line of the plot. It's also hard to imagine that lines like "I like it when you laugh. I like it when you don't. I guess i like you whatever you do. I guess i like you." actually came from a Xifa movie.

Shadow of a Doubt quotes

  • Emma Newton: What does he do? Oh, he's just in business, you know, the way men are.

  • Young Charlie: We just sort of go along and nothing happens. We're in a terrible rut. It's been on my mind for months. What's gonna be our future?

Joseph Newton: Oh, come now, Charlie. Things aren't as bad as that. The bank gave me a raise last January.

Young Charlie: Money? How can you talk about money when I'm talking about souls? We eat and sleep and that's about all. We don't even have any real conversations. We just talk.
