G and J's first night back on the ranch
J sleeps in G's arm
J: When did you start to sleep with guys? I mean, there must've been girls who made advances to you, a lot of 'em.
G: (smiling with a sigh)You mean when did I knew I' gay. Well, I knew it when I was about 22. In that summer I met someone who worked with me on the farm. I found that I had a strange feeling for him. You know, that feeling of... always want to get closer. But someday when we went to have drinks together, I saw him with women. And I felt sad, for the first time. I stayed single until 3 years later. He was the man who came to Scotland with me. We've been together for 2 years. We got along very well, doing short-time work together here and there, planning to build our own farm when we saved enough money . Until one day I found that he was sleeping with someone else. (paused)
J: (raised his head, giving a quick glimpse at G and switched the topic) So you never slept with someone you're not fond of?
G: No. Why would I?
J: But on the mountain... I thought you hate me.
G: ...I should've, but I did not.
J: ... Well, I should sleep. Good night. (turned his back to G)
G: Good night.
J: (Suddenly turned back again) You will like me, will ya?
G: (smile)I will, if you behave yourself.
J: (urgently) All right, all right, I know!
I just thought about it for a while and wrote it down, it doesn't seem to mean anything, whatever...
The characteristics of this film are still redemptive and rough. The most impressive thing is the mud on the body when the grass is having sex. In terms of coherence, it seems to be a little weaker, or it may be that I don't know enough about the culture there and the director's background setting. (Seeing that some bean friends mentioned Brexit and immigration, I was very educated.) Personally, I still prefer Ang Lee's detail control of burying Easter eggs everywhere.
