2019, sci-fi horror movie "Color Out of Space"
The film is based on H.P. Lovecraft's 1927 short story of the same name, "The Colour Out of Space"
I haven't read the original book. It is said that it is also a work of Cthulhu Xiang. The light pollution, color pollution, mental pollution, and tentacles shown in the movie can be seen as a glimpse.
The first thing to say is that the poster is really well done, it's really dazzling, but the indescribable spiritual pollution color, it feels a little strange to use this bright pink, maybe it's just a personal feeling.
Then there is Cage. Although he has been called the king of bad movies for so many years, the performance here really has the feeling of "The Shining". But this movie can only be a crazy performance.
Compared with the alien problem, this family and this town have a lot of problems, silly son? A cult daughter, a wife who is sick physically and mentally, and a greedy mayor, maybe the movie itself wants to reflect social issues?
Although there are more foreshadowings in the front of the story, there is nothing logically flawed, and I can only feel that it is really unfortunate to live here.
The fusion part felt like "The Thing", but I read a Japanese manga called "3X3 Eyes" when I was a kid, and it suddenly reminded me of that not-so-happy episode.
There have been many works of Cthulhu Feng in recent years, and they are basically novel adaptations, such as "annihilation", each has its own style, but although it is called the color of the stars, it is not so brilliant.
