Sin and Divinity in Man

The whole film has three representatives worth exploring: juvenile delinquents, small town residents, and the Catholic Church

Juvenile delinquents are like the epitome of human beings. While committing crimes, deep down they yearn for God's redemption and goodness. God created the world according to His image, so every sinner still retains a trace of divinity in his heart. Those longings for righteousness, love, freedom, and eternity are an indelible part of human nature. But ironically, in the movie, this redemption has to be accomplished in a deceptive way, because the sin and depravity of human nature outweigh the love in our hearts. If this young man does not wear the "sacred" cloak, how could the people in the town give him trust and forgiveness?

What's even more ironic is that this young man has indeed experienced the baptism of divinity because of the change of identity. Redemption comes when he puts on the body of Christ, believes, and acts.

However, this is ultimately a good deed based on lies, so the juvenile offender is not Christ, and after all, because of his weakness, he failed to truly face his sin, and he returned to the quagmire of sin to struggle and sink again.

The townspeople are the epitome of Catholics and Christians. We seem to be holy, but there are still many sins hidden in our hearts that we do not want to show to others or even to the Lord, and even lie in the confession room. However, this kind of cover-up is really stupid, because the gods know everything. The advent of juvenile delinquents has lifted the fig leaf of the believers, showing them that when they leave God, they are just one of the sinners like everyone else. And all this is revealed by a juvenile delinquent, which is really ironic.

In the end, it was the Catholic court that finally pulled the juvenile delinquent back to hell. Many people confuse religion with faith, but in fact, people who believe in religion do not mean they have true faith. Just like this seemingly pious town and the seemingly pious priests. The authoritative spokesmen in the Catholic system have gradually evolved into the roles of Pharisees and Jewish scribes in the New Testament. While claiming to be the spokesmen of God, their hearts are drifting away from God.

The New Testament of the Bible has already explained this situation very clearly. Those who truly follow God will not be unaware of the words that Jesus taught people.

Matthew 23:1-36

At that time Jesus spoke to the crowd and to his disciples, saying, "The scribes and Pharisees sit on the seat of Moses, and do all that they command you. But do not imitate their works; for they can They said, "No way. They tied up heavy burdens and put them on people's shoulders, but they wouldn't move a finger of their own. Everything they did was for people to see, so they put on the scriptures they wore. He is wide, and the fringe of his clothes is made long, and he loves the first seat at a banquet, a high place in the synagogue, and he is greeted by people in the street market, and he is called a rabbi (a rabbi is a teacher). because only one is your Master; you are all brothers. Do not call anyone on earth Father, because only one is your Father, the Father in heaven. Do not be called Master, because there is only one Your Master is Christ. Whoever is greatest among you will be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. "You hypocrites of the scribes Woe to the Pharisees! Because you shut the door of the kingdom of heaven right in front of others, and you do not enter in yourself, and you do not allow those who are about to enter in. (There are scrolls plus: 14 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you devoured the widow's property and pretended to say long prayers, you will be punished more severely. ) ... "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you have traveled by sea and land and seduced a man into a religion, and when he was admitted, you made him a child of hell, twice as much as you are. "Woe to you blind guides! You say, 'Whoever swears by the temple is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold in the temple must keep it. 'You ignorant and blind people, what is big? Is it gold? Or the temple that sanctifies gold? And you say, 'Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift on the altar, he must keep it. 'You blind people, what is big? Is it a gift? Or the altar that sanctifies the gift? Therefore, whoever swears by the altar, swears by the altar and everything on it; whoever swears by the temple, swears by the temple and those who dwell in the temple; whoever swears by the sky, swears by God The throne and the oath that sits on it. "Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! For you give tithes of mint, fennel, and celery, and the weightier things of the law, justice, mercy, and faithfulness, are not What is more important is what you should do; that is also a must. You blind guides, you will filter out the gnats, and swallow the camels. "You hypocrites, scribes and Pharisees, have Woe! For you wash the outside of the cup and plate, but the inside is full of extortion and debauchery. You blind Pharisee, wash the inside of the cup and plate first, so that the outside will be clean as well. "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, beautiful on the outside, but full of bones of the dead and all filth on the inside. So are you, who appear on the outside before men. Righteousness comes, but it is full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you built the tombs of the prophets, and decorated the tombs of the righteous, saying, 'If we were in the days of our fathers, we would not have shed the blood of the prophets with them. 'This is what you yourself proved to be the descendants of the prophet-killer. Go and be filled with the wickedness of your ancestors! How can you, serpents and venomous serpents, escape the punishment of hell? Therefore I have sent to you prophets and wise men and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will scourge in synagogues, and pursue from city to city, that the blood of the righteous may be shed in the world. On you, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Barakah, whom you killed between the temple and the altar . Truly I tell you, all these sins will be imputed to this generation. "
