Detailed analysis of the plot and characters

This is my first time writing a full-length film review, but I feel that this "Yellow Sea" needs to be written. It's purely personal understanding, just look at it, don't spray if you don't like it

Let's talk about the death of Professor Kim, which is the focus of the movie.

First of all, there must be two groups of people who want to kill the professor. The first group of characters: (behind the scenes) Bank chief Jin → (look for) Mr. Mian → (instruct) Jiu Nan to kill

Murder motive: Section Chief Jin had an affair with Professor Jin's wife, so it's better to buy and kill the professor directly (the thumb is definitely for fingerprints, it may be to facilitate the approval of some documents and the acquisition of property)

The reason why Jiunan agreed to kill is also very clear: in order to find a wife to go to Korea and have money to pay off foreign debts

The second group of characters: President Kim Tae-won → (calling) Director Cui → (instructing) the driver → (sending) 2 killers to kill

Murder motive: Professor Kim and the president's lover had an affair

Two lines crossed: 2 The killer went to kill the professor first, but the professor counter-killed, then the driver went upstairs and stabbed the professor to death, Jiu Nan killed the driver and cut off the professor's thumb, only to be seen by the professor's wife, and then escaped

Here, President Jin also saw that Professor Jin was dead through the news, but the wanted man was not the driver they hired, but a person they didn’t know at all (Junan), so he wanted to kill Jiunan to wash himself away Suspect → can't find Jiunan, but judged that he was smuggled → found out that it was Mr. Mian who managed all the Korean smuggling behind the scenes → wanted to kill Mr. Mian in Yanji and broke the chain, but was killed by three people → immediately hired Mr. Mian kills Jiunan (Mr. Mian went to Korea because of this) → finally three deaths (Mr. Mian died in the car, President Jin died on the ground, and Jiunan died on the Yellow Sea)

The next one is a secondary line: the male lead wife line

Jiunan went to her residence to see her daughter’s photo and the marks of being beaten (a broken photo frame), and then saw on TV that the fish man dismembered a 30-year-old Korean woman (it didn’t say whether it was the wife of the male protagonist) → Jiunan then found the aquatic man and beat him → The aquatic man only said that he knew each other, but did not say that he had anything to do with his wife

Later, the male protagonist asked someone to help identify the corpse, but the other party couldn't tell the difference. He casually told the male protagonist that it was his wife (it is possible that it is his wife here, I personally think it is not his wife)

The last picture is of Jiunan's wife getting off the train when she returns to China. Some people say it's imaginary, others say it's reality, but I think it's imaginary (because his wife wears the same clothes as when she left)

That's about it. In short, it's hard to understand this movie after watching it once, because I always mix the professor's wife with the male lead's wife = =. In fact, if you analyze it carefully, you will find that this script is really not easy to write. It tells a complete and moving story and deeply analyzes the helplessness and despair of the Korean people at the bottom. They are not treated well in China, and they are inferior in South Korea. Just like in the movies, fighting hard to avoid living like a dog, but not demanding
