Non-Standard Movie Reviews for Standard Fans: Zero Twenty-Seven

Saw the movie "Roma" at the cinema.

The title of the film does not refer to Rome in Italy, but Rome in Mexico, because the director grew up in Mexico. The stamina of this movie is so great that after watching it, there is an effect of going around the beam for three days, and I will think of it from time to time. The stamina is great, which means that the front is not good. Indeed, the foreshadowing in the front is too long, and you need to have enough patience to stick to it; the photography skills in the front are too fancy, and often make me dizzy. Of course, you can totally blame it on the aftermath of the director finishing "Gravity". In fact, the camera shake of this movie is not particularly severe, and it is relatively restrained. Compared with the Japanese movie "The Camera Don't Stop", it is like a bodhisattva's heart - the scene in front of "The Camera Don't Stop" can make people feel All the internal organs are spit out - however, as long as you get through this level, you can enjoy the next gluttonous meal. Oddly enough, I've seen a few recent movies this way—including the aforementioned "Don't Stop the Camera"—and you have to go through wind and rain before you can see the rainbow. Isn't there a movie where you can see the rainbow without going through wind and rain?

The director's intention to present the film in black and white is nothing more than to better restore the old times, but today's technology makes the black and white pictures shot by the camera extremely clear and too delicate, which somewhat weakens the rough feeling. There is also a difference between black and white movies and black and white movies. A blurry black and white movie is a product of ancient times, and a clear black and white movie is the crystallization of the digital age. Even people who haven't watched a few movies in their life can quickly tell whether the movie is a long time ago or a recent movie through the texture of the picture when they see a black and white movie.

There are many ways to shoot literary and artistic films. The two most common ones are that the camera serves the story and attracts the audience with a fascinating plot; the other is that the story serves the camera. I like the former because it's very immersive. In fact, whether it is a literary film or a commercial film, the story is undoubtedly the most important, and the lens is an auxiliary tool. If used properly, it can be icing on the cake. The latter is too narcissistic, and the long, groaning takes are its hallmarks. If this situation occurs frequently, it can only mean that the script is too thin.

From "Roma", it can be seen that there are many directors' personal experiences imprinted in it. The expression method is similar to Yang Dechang's "One One", reflecting an era through the experience of a family. The film mainly tells the story of two women who are betrayed by two men. These two women, one is the master and the other is the servant. If all goes well, they will be divided into two families in the future. However, after a series of changes, the boundaries between master and servant have been blurred. They took their pains and became a family that loved each other. Men are unreliable, women should be self-improvement. No woman is born with the eyes of Sun Wukong, and you can tell whether the other party is a scumbag at first glance. After being hurt by a scumbag, don't blindly go to the horns or seek shortsightedness, but live strong. This is the most important.
