Film Review Chapter 553 "Tighten Up" - Black Hole Manor
The thriller and suspense film "Twisted" premiered in the United States on January 24.
The film is based on the American novelist Henry James (1843-1916) horror suspense novel "Bi Lu's Injustice" ("The screw is tightening" or "The turn of the screw").
"Bi Lu's Injustice" is a famous masterpiece by Henry James.
Henry James pioneered the psychoanalytic novel.
Under his pen, there is a maze-like inner world of characters,
The intricate manor structure of the film is also a portrayal of the inner world of the characters.
Warning: The following sections contain spoilers.
If the west side of the manor represents the sunny side of the character's inner world, the east side of the manor represents the dark side of the character's inner world.
The mother of the female teacher has the ability to predict the future, before the female teacher visits her mother,
Her mother knew that the female teacher would come to see her, and gave the pre-painted picture (a portrait of the female teacher) to the female teacher.
The female teacher's mother also predicted in an abstract painting that she later sent her that the female teacher would drive and try to escape with her two young children.
After the female teacher entered the manor, she slowly saw two ghosts in the manor.
A male ghost, Qunit, is the former tutor of the boy Miles.
A female ghost, Jessel, is the former governess of the girl Flora.
Over time, the female teacher learns that the evil Quint had raped Jessel,
And finally killed Jessle and buried his body at the bottom of the lake.
The evil Quint also turns the once polite Miles into a rebellious teenager.
There is no detailed account of how Quint was killed and turned into a ghost.
But Mrs. Gross, an old servant from the manor, was quite sure that Quint was dead,
It can be learned that Quint was most likely killed because Mrs. Gross did not like Quint making the polite Miles a bad boy.
At the end of the film, Quint, who has turned into a ghost, must push Mrs. Gross down the stairs and fall to her death in revenge.
Many viewers were not very happy with the ending of the film.
The end of the film is actually at the director's discretion. The abrupt stop of the film is like a sudden stop when the screws are tightened to a certain degree.
The ending of the film is open-ended. But one thing is certain is that the female teacher can't escape the manor, the whole manor is like a black hole,
The female teacher will die in the manor, and the soul cannot escape the gate of the manor. At this point, the heroine's mother painted and predicted on the wall of the swimming pool as early as possible.
The horror effect of the film is far stronger than "Annabelle 3".
The film also uses multiple dreams to bring a layered sense of horror to the audience.
Recommend this movie to viewers who like thriller and suspense movies.
I wish you all a Happy New Year.
