Womanist is to feminism as purple is to Lavender

Alice Walker, born in 1944, lost her sight in one eye accidentally as a child, and her mother gave her a typewriter. The film's original The Color Purple, her 1982 work, won a Pulitzer Prize.

Why is it purple, because the author believes that the term Feminism cannot fully represent the needs of African women, so she uses the African term Womanism, which she said in her 1983 work In Search of our Mothers' Gardens: Womanist Prose. Lavender is just A lighter purple, Womanist is to feminism as purple is to Lavender

In this garden of womanism, all people, regardless of race, gender, class, can love each other, and all flowers can exist at the same time, while maintaining their respective cultural identities.

Heterosexual women can love men, and gay women can be close friends with men, which is where other radical feminists object to.

Black women suffer from double oppression, patriarchal persecution and racism.

My favorite is Sophia, all the places where there are men, women have to struggle, and I didn't expect to continue in their own homes. A very brave woman who left her husband with her child directly. She has the support of women in her own race, and the women in her family are very accepting of her. Her hot character and strong fist are vulnerable in white society, and eight years in prison have devastated her. Fortunately, in the end, Siley's awakening inspired Sophia, and she came back strong.

Shug's prototype is very much like a female writer, Zora Neale Hurston (1891-1960), a woman definitely ahead of her time, single, white-funded research, and traveled to many parts of the world.

There have been many analyses of women, let me talk about the men in the film.

Albert's father, who doesn't appear in many scenes, his theory is that his wife has to beat him. Just find a young girl to clean up the mess at home. Men don't have the right to interrupt women, blah, blah, blah. Such fathers raise sons like Albert.

Albert didn't look down on Siley, and he often beat and kicked, because he wanted to marry a beautiful sister, not a sister. To Siley, he was a maid and brought his lover Shug to the house. To his lover, he was cautious and even frantically cooking. It is also for the people he likes that he starts to contradict his father. Lover got married. After Siley left him, he used alcohol to drown his sorrows. The house was in a mess. Father came to give him advice. You have found a young girl to clean up for you. His response was to send his father out immediately. Listen to you.

Albert never saw how to beat his son Harpo. Most of the time, he just threatened and scolded him, instructing the child to work. When the son brought his strong girlfriend Sophia to the door for the first time, Sophia was really tough, which brought out the fact that his son was simply a soft egg, caught between a strong father and a strong girlfriend, in a dilemma. Fortunately, feelings prevailed, and finally tied the knot. But Harpo was deeply influenced by patriarchy, and felt that women should serve him. Disobedience was the old way of his parents, beating. Sophia is not so easy to bully, the two fought for a few years, Sophia left him. Harpo's little girlfriend left him and he ended up taking care of the inn with Sophia. Father Albert finally recognized Sophia, which is not easy for a patriarchal father. Sophia said you had to go and see your dad, and Harpo said no.

Three generations of men, in the face of the reality of the awakening of iron-like women, finally recognized their position.

We are women, we are equals as you men, and all need love in the garden of God's gaze.
