I finally finished watching "Mamma Mia 2", and finally my dream came true.
Why did it take so long to watch? Because when I heard that Donna (Aunt May) died in the second movie, I didn't have the desire to watch it.
However, after 10 years, it is very difficult for this movie to have a sequel and to summon the original cast to star in the movie. Watching those familiar actors appear in the movie one after another, although the time of these ten years is on the faces of the actors All of them left traces, and even there were official complaints in the movie, but at that moment, my heart couldn't help but tug at it, and I was very moved.
The film mainly tells the story of the reopening of her daughter's repairing hotel a year after Donna's death, interspersed with the story of Donna's youth, the two parallel story lines are constantly mirrored, and the actors who play the young age are also very vivid. It captures the essence of the roles played by the older generation of actors, so you won't feel abrupt when the scene is constantly changing.
Although there are not many bright spots in the plot, the climax of the whole film is set off at the end:
1⃣️Sophie's grandmother appeared. This is a character that never appeared in the first movie, and finally found her true love when she was young by accident. (Although I think it's a bit silly)
2⃣️Donna appeared, I thought Aunt Mei would not appear. After all, the beginning of this episode indicated that Donna had passed away, but when Aunt Mei appeared, especially when Sophie became a mother, she understood the mother's meaning even more. It's not easy, although the dialogue between the two of them is only for artistic effect, but I was really moved!
3⃣️Finally, the theme song of the movie sounded, and all the actors danced together, especially those two generations of actors who played the same role on the same stage, which is a collective tribute to the movie!
Classics are classics, this film adaptation of the Broadway musical of the same name, coupled with the popular songs of ABBA band, composed such a film together, and drew a successful end to the "Mamma Mia" series (Would you like it? Let’s adapt Grandma Sophie’s route again, hahaha)
Finally, to talk about the film from my personal perspective:
It is also a coincidence that I had a conflict with my mother just before watching this movie, and there were some arguments. The two were in a cold war. After watching this movie, especially at the end, when Sophie was a mother, the movie flashed back to Donna pregnant with Su. The scene of Fei's upcoming production, I think I feel the same as Sophie: every mother is great!
Perhaps, only when a child truly becomes a mother and a father can they truly grow up, because at that moment they finally understand the hardships of their parents!
And I also admire Donna's personality very much. When she was young, she was just graduated and fledgling, yearning for freedom and love, daring to love and hate, to move forward bravely, full of vigor and vitality, even if she was not paid attention by her mother, she could not get along with her lover. Keep, but still bravely pursue your dreams. After becoming a mother, she raised her daughter alone. Although her enthusiasm for life was slowly worn away by the trivialities of life, she was still able to shine on the stage after meeting with friends, showing her charm!
