The brain fills up a very fearful possibility, maybe we have never understood female addicts

Currently writing a paper on Russ

Had a new idea while closing my eyes on the bus and suddenly felt like a female addict reading Lars for the first time

Write it down quickly, maybe there is no logic, but at least it is a direction

First of all, let’s make it clear that there is an obvious difference between the upper and lower parts, that is, the lower part of the film discusses more niche or even taboo subjects, such as SM, pedophilia, etc.…

Why is this so? Of course there are many other explanations, but when I think about what Joe did in the debt collection, I suddenly had a new idea.

Remember how Joe dealt with one of the stubborn guys?

She slowly approached his limit from ordinary, to sm, fetish, same-sex, and finally discovered his pedophile

So is it possible that she is also making up the story and slowly looking for Seligman's weaknesses throughout the movie? So the lower part is darker than the upper part

As for why she did it, I think I can explain it in her own words

She finally relented to the stubborn pedophile because she thought he was an amazing person who managed to control her desires

And Seligman did not restrain his desire in the end, so he had the fate of being shot.

So if that's the case, what's the point of the movie talking so much? I do not know either

Maybe it's Russ' joke about Eve who seduced Adam.

I thought I could only watch the top part in Europe this time, but I didn't expect to catch up with the premiere of the bottom part as soon as I arrived in Amsterdam. With the evolution of the story of the narrator, Joe, the rhythm, mood and upper part of the film are completely different, and the shocking black humor is gradually led by gray emotions to a slightly orthodox value pursuit, but it has to come to such a very ironic ending.

In the second part, the heroine has accepted herself and is as brave as a man. Von Trier’s film world has blurred moral boundaries. It can accept promiscuous sex with the heroine, but it explodes the head of the hypocrites at the end.

Nymphomaniac: Vol. II quotes

  • Joe: It's said to be difficult to take someone's life. I would've said that it's more difficult not to. For a human being, killing is the most natural thing in the world. We're created for it.

  • Joe: Who perhaps is happy when all is said and done.
