1. Director & screenwriter & composer John Carney
used to be the bassist of the Irish band The Frames. The story also stems from some of his experiences. For example, he mentioned that he witnessed in the 1990s that many producers like male protagonists came to Ireland to try to find the next U2 band. Now he wants to know where those people are; there are also male and female protagonists listening to songs together late at night. Talking about pearls also stems from my fond memories of having a New Year's Day, hurriedly picking up the iPhone and earphone splitter before rushing to the church, and listening to songs with my girlfriend using the splitter on the way.
He directed the 2006 Irish musical "Once", which won the Oscar for Best Original Song. He said that music films have a great influence on him. For example, "A Star is Born", "New York, New York", "Guys and Dolls" and other love music movies have also had a certain influence on this film.
The director thinks that music movies are more like an album than other movies, and you don't need to follow the plot to get in that kind of atmosphere. At first, some people thought that there were too many songs in his movie, and it was all music. He said that in order to balance the music and the story, "I put my movie full of songs"!
The director also participated in some composition. For example, the heroine used his mobile phone to record Like a Fool of the scumbag. He said that his favorite soundtrack includes this one, and the song Coming Up Roses sung with the children in the alley (don’t say take it) Lost Stars of Chong Austria).
2. Gregg Alexander, one of the composers
, was the lead singer of the band New Radicals founded in 1997. He has only released one album. "You Get What You Give" made him famous. After two years, he disbanded and retreated behind the scenes to concentrate on writing, 2003 Acquired a Grammy with "The Game of Love" in 2009.
He is the first time he has composed music for a film. The works in this film include the theme song Lost Stars, the derailed song A Higher Place, the rooftop song Tell Me If You Wanna Go Home, the No One Else Like You in the love period, and the heroine. Step You Can't Take Back, the first song of the stunning male protagonist in the bar.
The recording studio chose Electric Lady Studios, where many great albums have been born, and many celebrities Bob Dylan and John Lennon have recorded here. Gregg hopes that the soul of music here can be stored in his song.
3. The first time the
heroine Keira Knightley said that he was acting as a singer for the first time. The director said that when he invited KK, he didn't know how to sing. Later, after listening to her sing a few words, he was relieved.
Adam Levine also appeared in a movie for the first time, and he also said that he didn't know how to act in the beginning.
4.
Most of the Improvise films are improvised on the spot.
The scene of the male and female protagonists pressing down on the road in Times Square was not cleared out or looking for group performances during the actual shooting. The shooting method is actually very similar to the recording method described in this film, without deliberate planning or strict organization.
5. Temperament.
Some movie fans even suggested that the director find the heroine KK to remake Hepburn's classic "My Fair Lady" (My Fair Lady), which may be moved by the way KK rides a bicycle in the film... In fact, it was rumored in 2008 KK wanted to play a new version of Fairy Lady, but it failed in the end. At that time, many people questioned her temperament.
The role of the heroine has considered Scarlett and Adele.
KK's dress style in this film refers to the unisex dress of Annie Hall.
KK was nominated for an Oscar that year, but not because of the film (because of "The Imitation Game").
6. Guitar
The hostess KK learned the guitar specially for this film. Her husband, James Righton, helped her study as a musician, but the process was not smooth, and the two were about to "divorce".
7. The New York
story is set in New York, and the director loves it very much, thinking that such a story can only happen here.
8. The names of
the original titles is called Can A Song Save Your Life? (Can songs save lives?). But almost no one likes it... The
male protagonist Dan's surname is Mulligan (which is the last name of Kerry Mulligan), which means "additional blow" (an additional blow after the final blow fails in an informal match). It has a similar meaning to the topic Begin Again.
9. When the family members
were recording their first song outdoors, one of a group of harmonizing children in the alley was Keen, the son of the Hulk, and he asked his father for cigarettes.
When the hostess is eating in a restaurant, Sharman Macdonald, the mother of the hostess KK, comes to a guest sitting at the next table.
(Actually, "Once" like to look for family guest appearances)
10. The Voice of America
played the heroine "Scumboy" Adam Levine, and the male protagonist finally invited Cee-Lo Green to help promote and forward. In reality, they are all "The Voice of America". "The judges. In the final of 14 years, Sao Dang performed "Lost Stars" in the film.
