It shot really well

I think the filming of this version is still good, but because of the length of the relationship, the characters and the plot have been reduced a lot. Also, Pierre's casting is a bit of a problem

The war scenes are very good, really like the battle of 1812. The music, colors and clothing are outstanding. The pictures are like oil paintings. The casting of Napoleon and Kutuzov was great.

Natasha and Pierre's relationship was brought closer early on, after all, the plot required it. Henry Fonda's Pierre is really bad. Hepburn's husband, Duke Andrew, is great. Little Hepburn was born to play Natasha, but she was too thin to look like a Russian beauty. Natasha's love for Prince Andrew has also become a true love rather than more arrangement and moral affection. It doesn't seem so convincing that this had an effect on the later seduction by Anatoly. Natasha's three love stories are so short that it is too difficult to deal with, and the first love Boris is naturally gone.

Anita Eggerbo's Helen is the most beautiful and reliable version I have ever seen. She also looks like a Russian woman, with few scenes, but Helen's famous words are still said a lot. The characters are a little more beautified than the original. She is not as indulgent as the original and didn't like Pierre so much at the beginning. More is not concerned about the conflict with Pierre. The ending was also mentioned indirectly by Dolokhov.

Sonia's original black-haired little man was changed to a blond big man. The scenes have been greatly weakened, and the mirrors and the masquerade, which especially embody the core of the characters, are not reflected. Her famous words are all expounded by Natasha. The whole process is often Natasha's pendant. But love loyalty and generosity are preserved, especially to protect Natasha from being deceived and finally willing to let Nicola and Maria get married, I still can't help feeling sorry for her. Almost all of Maria's scenes were cut, and all that was left was to come back to see her brother with Nikolay after marriage. In fact, if that's the case, it might be better to have Sonia and Nikolay together.

In fact, it is also 3.5 hours long. To complete the filming of War and Peace, only a series of movies or short dramas can be made. I think this version has done my best, and the filming is generally very good.
