Hate can stir up disputes; love can cover up all wrongs.

A wise man has wisdom in his mouth; an ignorant man bears a rod on his back.

List of award-winning works:

Magical works, the first half is realistic and exotic, the second half is bloody and magical, the style switching is straightforward, not "abrupt", but "surprising", addictive rhythm.

Entering the brief review, I only talk about two aspects, one is the "abnormality" of the work, and the other is the "surprise attack" of the plot.

Abnormal, that is, "unusual."

First, the style "exceptional" . This work takes an "adventure, magic" route (the village disappears out of thin air, the paradise, the witch doctor...), these settings, in the previous works of Kleber Mendoza Jr, can't be found at all, such as The well-known "Aquarius" is based on "real life" as the main tone, interspersed with spurs and ridicules for society and human nature. The appearance of this work completely subverts the author's conclusion on the direction of the style of his work.

Second, the "exception" of the details. Unique and interesting.

a, Mystery fruit (similar to Chinese prickly ash)

b, "disappearing" villages

c, witch doctor mask

d, "UAV in the form of a flying saucer"

e, ancient furnishings

f, alien invasion

g, the battle of carrying the coffin

...

These "extraordinary" contents, ranging between "wildness" and "dream", start from "reality", go through "fantasy", and finally "essence", making the original dry/mouthful content add magical appeal.

Let's look at the "surprise attack", which literally means "attacking the enemy by surprise". This definition coincides with the plot of this work.

First of all, the "surprise" of the style change before and after the film . How to understand this? That is, there is one genre in the first half (plot-based), and one genre in the second half (magic, thriller). Roughly speaking, the two are incompatible. After careful consideration, it is actually not the case.

The content of the first half is biased towards the humanities, depicting the customs and customs of Bacurau, purely "laying the ground", with an obvious purpose, and effectively paving the way for the "invasion", "awakening" and "resistance" in the second half. In short, with the "quietness in the first half", the "movement in the second half" is highlighted; with "the simplicity of the locals in the first half", the "cunning of the intruders in the second half" is highlighted. In contrast, if you think about and understand the deep-seated intentions of the director's design, you won't complain about the "discomfort" caused by the style change.

Second, (the second half of the story) the villagers' "surprise attack" on the invaders. This is easy to understand, no need to explain too much, just give a simple example---resisting Japanese pirates, understand? Is it straightforward and obvious?

Finally, the "surprise attack" of various demands. These deep meanings are supplements and annotations to the above-mentioned "representational" content (the villagers' "surprise attack" against the invaders), which contains the following information.

a. Worry about the spread of evil

b. Concerns about the continued rise in violence (especially gun crime)

c. Condemnation of ignoring environmental pollution, abandoning environmental protection and many other actions

d. Calls for the protection of "indigenous people" and "ecological circles"

e, condemnation of power (directed at the US imperialist)

In addition, the film also mentioned a lot of "innuendo" sensitive content, can you say it? How to cut in? The author can not grasp the proportions, so, keep silent.

Finally, let me mention a few scenes in the film that are worth paying attention to (thinking about).

1. At the beginning of the film, through space, the lens focuses on the paradise --- Bacurau. (Pay attention to the hidden meaning of "miniature")

2. Teresa enters Bacurau by car. (Follow the signs of Bacurau village)

3. Lobbying of "decent" candidates. (Pay attention to the changes in the "eating phase" before and after the two appearances)

4. Devour the "fruit". (Focus on the meaning --- eat your own fruit)

5. The appearance of the motorcycle duo, the time spent in the village. (Pay attention to the identification of the two)

6. An "intruder" who speaks American English, holds a firearm, and has the intention of having a discussion. (Pay attention to the content of the speech)

7. American Soldiers/Children who were shot in the dark. (Focus on the emotions of the characters)

8. The intruder was beheaded by the villagers. (Follow the actions of the villagers)

9. At the end of the film, the intruder is buried alive. (Pay attention to the expressions of the villagers)

end. fell asleep.

Screenwriter ★★★★☆ (The power of lines, especially the interpretation of context and tone, neat and refined)

Director ★★★★☆ (Super duo, two into one, perfect match)

Actor ★★★☆☆ (Compared to the layering of the plot, the actor's appeal is obviously insufficient)

Plot ★★★☆☆ (The content of the story is not difficult to understand, but the connotation of the story requires contemplation)

Visual effects ★★★★★ (primitive atmosphere, different from "Monkey", but has the same lens language effect)

Sound effects ★★★★★ (wild, primitive, samba-like, passionate)

Recommendation ★★★★☆ (recommended to watch together with "Synonyms" and "Monkey")
