The gay movies I've watched before have always had a vigorous love story, and even though I would cry or be too happy, the huge emotional swings would make me feel very happy.
But the film's bland dialogue, depressing music and tone, and that therapy I couldn't accept, was too heart-wrenching to face reality. In the middle of the progress several times, I couldn't stand Victor forcing the fat boy, I couldn't stand Jared being scolded, the treatment center was horrible.
Fortunately, the protagonist's mother, Jared resisted in the end, and couldn't help but applaud, but she was sweating for his future life...
Before watching this movie, I almost thought that most of the world treats LGBTQ kindly. After watching it, I have to think about it...
