Who is playing hide and seek?

A little girl Emily, traumatized by her mother's suicide, is taken to the countryside by her father, a psychiatrist, to try to cure her daughter's illness. Charlie, the inexplicably dead cat, and Elizabeth's father who would suddenly wake up at 2:06 in the middle of the night to find a scarlet letter in the bathroom and a dead body, all became suspicious. In the end, the film tells us that Charlie is another character with a split personality from Dad.

At the beginning, I was brought in by the rhythm of the film. If I wasn't affected by the bullet screen, I would have always thought that Charlie was Emily's imaginary object, or it was the neighbor man. After watching the film, I also have some opinions about the film. The following are my own guesses about some doubts about the film, which are not representative.

A doubt is 2:06 points . Every time my father dreamed, there would always be a dance scene in the dream. Later in the film, we also told us that it was here that my father would kill because of jealousy when he saw his mother cheating. Maybe at 2:06, my father picked up the pillow and suffocated the sleeping mother beside him . In addition, at this point in time, there is another opinion of mine, that is, after this point in time, it is the node where father and daughter just change back to normal personalities . Because every time she saw the bloody father, she would question Emily. Maybe Emily was afraid that saying "Charlie is actually you" would stimulate him to change back to Charlie, so she never dared to say it, and maybe she didn't want to. Admit that she was involved in these things too.

One is the writing on the wall . The film tells us that the words on the wall and the shower curtain were written by Emily, why Emily wrote such explicit words, and it seems to be aimed at her own father. It was because he saw his father kill his mother and carried her body to the bathroom. I think it was my father who suffocated my mother first and then carried her into the bathtub to kill her, probably because it was better to clean up blood and corpses. All of the latter happened to be seen by Emily. From then on, Emily began to hate and subconsciously wanted to anger and revenge her father. It is also possible that she also had a split personality because of her mother's murder.

One is a drawing of a girl and a doll with its eyes gouged out . When the female doctor came to see Emily earlier, Emily said that she and Charlie wanted to provoke their father. I think the girl's split personality is similar to her father's split personality, so she will think that Charlie is her friend, she has been helping Charlie, so she gouged the girl's doll's eyes, whether it is For both Emily and Charlie, Elizabeth's presence disturbed their lives. A split-person Emily is bloody, and she doesn't want anyone else to disturb her life. She screamed when she was playing hide-and-seek with Charlie because it was Charlie's dad trying to persecute her, or maybe seeing the horrific split dad Charlie, but after Emily screamed, Charlie disappeared from his dad again. I think Emily's paintings have been implying that it's actually a split personality of herself and her dad .

One is a black hole in the forest. At the end of the film, you can see that there are many discarded dolls in it. I think it may be the place where the father and daughter were dumped or the place after the case was dealt with. And the photo of the father whose head was ripped off may have been made by Emily when she had a normal personality.

Another was a quarrel between a neighbor couple in the middle of the night . When I first watched the film, I thought it was a bit redundant to tell about the image of the neighbor couple, but after thinking about it, I thought that the neighbor couple might be trying to help the girl out of the predicament. Did you find that the police, the landlord or the neighbor couple in the video said something to the father, "Your daughter is very beautiful", but the expression on his face was very strange when he said it, I think it was because the father suspected that outsiders wanted The perspective that disturbs their lives deliberately alienates the other characters. When he saw Emily and the neighbor man having a good time outside, he immediately ran out and brought Emily back. The next night he saw the neighbor couple arguing again, and he came to the door the next day. I think it may be that Emily told the neighbor man about her father, and it happened that the neighbor couple lost their daughter, and he wanted to help Emily. But maybe after telling his wife what she thinks, the wife just feels that her husband is sensitive because of the loss of his daughter. Later, after David came to the door, he told the neighbor girl that he was a psychiatrist and could help them solve their psychological problems. Maybe then the neighbor girl started to feel that something was wrong. back home.

In the end, the sober daughter fully realized that her father, her so-called friend Charlie, was a murderer. She said that she did not want to be friends with Charlie or to see Charlie any more. Maybe it was because her daughter said it. With this sentence, David, who only wanted to hide himself and his daughter, was finally provoked and turned into Charlie, and wanted to kill his daughter. Although Emily seems to have changed back to the character when her mother was still alive at the end of the film, it also implies that there is another unknown Emily in her heart.
