The content seriously deviates from the original only because the foreshadowing and background of the original are too complicated. The movie has simplified most of the content to make the plot simple and easy to understand. The newly added content is also lackluster. It's fake. I didn't even watch the whole movie. I didn't even need to watch it. In short, in my opinion, this new Count of Monte Cristo movie is not half as good as the original. If you haven't read the book, I will watch the movie.
