The first half of the movie talks about the acquaintance of two people and how the alternative business becomes bigger and stronger, and the second half is how they parted ways. In the end, Destiny burst into tears while listening to the female reporter relaying Remona's words to her on the phone. The two never saw each other again.
A little bit of "The Wolf of Wall Street" and a little bit of "The Social Network", the director did have the ambition to turn the popcorn movie into a serious drama and win the top prize, and the movie did not do it.
The first half, no. The whole movie is a mix of Pop song MVs. From Britney to Usher, JLo's pole dance can be directly used as the MV for her next single. The editing was messy. In the first 30 minutes, in order to reflect Destiny's living conditions, scenes were switched every two minutes, which was considered a "line drawing", but in fact nothing was said, only fragmented fragments and music that stopped abruptly. Also, every time the sisters and sisters make their debut, they have to queue up and walk in slow motion. From the nightclub catwalk to the bar to catch men, there are about ten times before and after, even the strong men from the girls buying new houses and moving companies have to carry furniture. Slow motion, I really shouted that the director was Jiang Lang. It was the same trick when the girls were arrested, and the insertion of "Royal" here was completely inexplicable, and I was so embarrassed that my toe was smashed to the ground.
In the second half, the sisters were at odds and parted ways. I really like the second half, ordinary disputes, ordinary suspicions, everything is just so-so, not too bad. I love that Destiny walks out of the bright night club to the bright sunshine under the blue sky and white clouds. At this time, strippers and AKA scammers are plump, and you can think that they don't rely on the middle of the night to suck the energy of men. Or, they are ordinary women who need to support their families and live. On the contrary, it is Remona, who wears heavy makeup with false eyelashes during the day, plus furs and luxury bags, she is not so real.
When it comes to the character of Remona, I am also obsessed. At least Destiny made it clear that she lacked money to support her grandmother and daughter (in fact, didn't she buy luxury goods later? Desires will never be filled), and Remona is simply a mystery. For a while, she was a great mother who devoted herself to her daughter, and then she became a vicious woman who was fascinated by money.
Conceptually, this movie is bullshit. I heard that "The Dancing Girl Thief" was adapted from a real story? The film is about "the financial man on Wall Street stole the firefighter's insurance money", so they are fighting violence and peace, and put a layer of hypocrisy on their behavior. Fuck off! I haven't seen you benevolent since the money was deceived. Isn't the money used to buy bags, fur, and red-soled shoes? The forced sublimation at the end of the film is also funny, "the whole city, the whole country is a strip club", some movies see the world from the fallen leaves; if you don't even tell the story of the stripper, don't mention it What the world is not the world.
There's still one thing I can't stand about this movie: it makes excuses for crime. They are not heroines who rob the rich to help the poor, nor are they forced by society to be prostitutes. The result of the crime is the reason for the crime: making money. How can there be so many reasons and rules for doing things in this fucking world, isn't money and luxury not a reason? It is necessary to portray the criminal strippers as saints, how embarrassing their lives are in the first half, and how disgusting their extravagant parties are in the second half. Based on this idea alone, it will never be considered a good work.
I was wrong, and it dawned on me all of a sudden. Why am I comparing this movie to TSN? Isn't this "Little Times"!
Replenish:
Oh, after watching this popcorn movie, I watched a few excellent works, and finally realized what made me uncomfortable in the narrative of this film: many scenes, it is not to tell the story clearly, but purely to show the living state of the heroine . Like Destiny in the first half, she couldn't hook up with men in a nightclub, her salary was deducted, she gave her grandma only a small amount of money, and she looked envious of Remona on stage... These clips really show her Distressed living conditions, desperate need for money; but there is no connection and no storytelling between these fragments, so they are just fragments.
