I watched Frozen 2 with Cheng Er this weekend.
Sure enough, Hollywood blockbusters reveal the worldview of Indian yoga philosophy everywhere.
① Internal and external theme lines
I think a major reason for the popularity of "Frozen 2" is related to its clear "inside" and "outside" themes that are both "advanced".
The inner theme of "inner" continues the first season and deepens the theme of "finding yourself"——
search for self → self-awareness
→ Sublimation to "Oneness with Self"
→ In oneness, live out and express one's destiny
→ After the unity, the splendid brilliance that life should have in full bloom
The theme of ""external" department, which seems to be absent in the first season, is a clear theme of the fusion of nature and human beings.
②Five elements
Among them, the elements of nature are full of the world view of Indian yoga philosophy - the five elements of earth, water, fire, wind and air.
When Cheng'er saw the four small diamonds representing earth, water, fire and wind floating in the air and filling the whole world, she let out a low voice and pointed, "Ah... earth, water, fire, wind and air!"
The energies of natural forests are summarized into four visible energies: earth, water, fire, wind
and the invisible fifth energy: emptiness
The boulder, symbolizing the four energies that make up the matter of the world, forms the entrance to the forest.
When it was time to express the call of the four energies, the small diamond-shaped crystals with the four attributes suddenly floated all over the void. This figurative picture is translated into a text version, which is exactly - "The world is composed of earth, water, fire and wind (emptiness)", and earth, water, fire and wind (emptiness) are everywhere."
And the fifth energy, the energy of "emptiness", was not clearly defined at the beginning?
Cheng'er asked, "Where's Empty?"
I approached Cheng'er, and my index finger lightly poked her heart.
Everyone's "heart".
The emptiness of mind.
It is also the mind that can transform all things.
③ Plot logic
The inner logic of the plot is roughly as follows (slight spoilers do not affect viewing):
When human beings have excessive selfish desires, they fear nature and become hostile.
So a dam was built in the cliff to block the flow of water. (Desire produces fear, fear produces hostility) Because the energy of water is blocked, the fire energy is out of control (the elf in the shape of a small dinosaur), the wind energy is out of control (tornado), and the earth energy is out of control (the rage of the giant stone man). In the end, the entire forest was sealed by power for thirty-four years.
The seal isolates the interior of the forest from the outside world, that is, the isolation between "nature" and "human beings".
This is an expression of intention and a figurative meaning.
④The hidden "earth"
In the play, Cheng'er asked again, "Where's the soil?"
We guess, without explicitly mentioning the representative of "earth" energy, could it be the megalithic man?
Or a better plot design could be - Anna has the magic of earth energy. Like her sister, she was pushed to the extreme and then went mad, bursting out her magic power, and found that she could control the soil.
Cheng and I are eagerly looking forward to it...
Of course, the final plot did not clearly develop in this way, but 'actually', Anna is playing the energy of 'earth'.
It should be said that the plot hints are obvious, such as:
* In the overall tone, Anna's hair is brown, the clothes in the play are large khaki, and the coat is dark brown. All are the color of earth energy.
*In the plot, whenever her sister is going to fly to save the world, Anna's behavior always plays a role of pulling down, 'don't go too far', and at the same time 'supportive'.
*The solution of the whole situation is also Anna's explosion of a small universe, activating the giant rock man, destroying the key energy blocking dam built by humans, and finally completely dismantling the seal on the forest.
* It is also earth energy that is ultimately used to lead human society. Like all myths and stories, the human society here is the group appearance of the "people" living close to the ground.
In this way, the four kinds of energies are precisely manifested in the situation.
But off-topic, the screenwriter seems to have deliberately blurred some of the earth, water, fire, wind and empty structures, in order to make the protagonist more prominent, rather than the five elements.
So an understanding can be: Anna is earth, Alsha is water, little fire dragon, wind spirit. And emptiness is the attuned state of the whole energy that is present in every element. Another understanding can be: the megalithic man is the earth, the fierce horse in the ocean is the water, the little fire dragon, and the wind spirit. Alsha tamed the 'water' energy. Alsha herself is void energy, so she became the king of the natural forest.
But I prefer the former one. When Alsha tames the fierce horses in the ocean, he is actually fighting against the final resistance within himself. When he tames himself and mobilizes his mind, he can finally reach the "source of self-energy" smoothly.
Clearing the 'palace' of the collapsed inner world, "oneness with all being", oneness thus transcending time, seeing memories in water.
⑥ Unity
When accepting the self and becoming one with the power of the self, human beings are completely sublimated from body to soul.
Alsha was described as "looking very different".
It's a bit like a person who gradually lives out his own life in reality. Sometimes someone will say that something is different about you, as if you are shining, because of that firmness and inner illuminating certainty.
...
Walking out of the theater, Cheng'er and I were lying on the floor upstairs and looking down. There is a huge five-pointed star pattern on the ground floor.
I pointed it out to her, "The pentagon is also a symbol of magical power that humans have believed in since ancient times."
Cheng'er thought thoughtfully, "Oh oh~~ so it's 'earth, water, fire, wind and air'! In China, it's 'gold, wood, water, fire, earth'!"
""right. Or it can also be expressed as a quadrangle. The four corners are earth, water, fire, and wind, and the middle is 'empty' energy; the four corners are metal, wood, water, and fire, and the middle is 'earth' energy. "
Go to the first floor and step on the ground. The soil is solid underfoot, and the wind is particularly warm today, and it is surrounded by circles.
It's a pity that Disney's plot will not have a rigorous philosophical discussion, like "The Matrix".
In this film, the key blow that finally breaks the seal comes from the energy of "earth", but the inner energy of the breakthrough is the energy of "water".
Cheng'er asked, "Why does Alsha represent the energy of water instead of fire or earth?"
Hmm, what a question... :)
