My first impression:
TBH, this is just a very very plain movie to me. There is no plot twist and I feel no enjoyment from watching this tedious long term of breaking in. It's just the thing you already can imagine and keep lasting for such a long time. Just like watching porn, but worse than porn, because the director is still trying to build suspense and anticipation via indirect cinema techniques. However, I need no anticipation because I know what they are up to and in my imagination, the violence scenes can be more vivid and thrilling.
It is just another film that the director thought they are very smart but they are not.
My second thoughts:
After examining the fact that its intended audiences are those people who soak in conventional horror or violent genre films, this filmm does make me feel like it works as its own. It's very unconventional for sure but it works for a message and serves to the message solely.
I don't know how to rate this film then, based on the fact that my rating standards for other films like how it emotionally manipulates the audiences is supposed to be rejected and even criticized by this film. It indeed powerfully achieves that goal of making audiences realize this fact. However, to me, as someone who isn't played by conventional horror settings, it doesn't become impactful. I wish I could watch with a larger audience group to better grisp the dynamics the film is able to convey .
