"The Elephant" is a film to reminisce about. For most of the front part, everyone was walking and talking casually and without knowing what to say. The characters were so complicated that people couldn't remember who was who and what they were doing. Quite hypnotic. When the gunshots sounded, and the characters who appeared in front were quickly strung together and quickly disappeared, you only remembered to go back and see who these people were and what they did. Just like when the sin happened, we remembered to go back and care about the living conditions of these teenagers.
The long shots often stop at the back of the characters, and the routes they take are closed passages around them that are not connected to each other. We can see from the overlapping of time and space that they are intertwined, but they just pass by and are always alone.
Remember that group of students talking about homosexuality? They talked so lightly. But Eric is gay.
In the end everyone died. A girl who was as repressed as Eric died, a photography lover who loved life died, a black man who seemed like a hero died, and even his companions died. Will the couple die? Definitely will, because they represent the last good.
He kills everyone as he kills every part of himself.
Why didn't the blond boy die? Looking at the control he had over his father in the beginning, he was a latent force.
