After graduating in 2004, I was looking for a job in Shenzhen. When I was extremely depressed by reality, I used a second-hand small-size TV I bought to lie on the bed. I fell asleep in the middle of the night and accidentally discovered the drama broadcast on Hong Kong TVB Pearl, which was only broadcast every week. It was broadcast at around 12:00 in the evening. I liked it after watching one episode, and it was very engaging.
Later, I often watched the show every Sunday in the middle of the night, and after I found a job, it was still the same, resulting in many Mondays being late and listless, and hopeless. There were no computers back then, so I had to wait and see.
I like this dark and thought-provoking American drama about marginalized people, which may have something to do with the mood and environment at the time, as well as my unhappy personality.
