"Black Snake Moan": The upgraded version of "Forbidden Room Cultivating Desire" in the United States □ Text/Vulcan Ji The way of redemption lies in the sublimation of love from childhood to great love, suppressing the underlying primitive desires for metaphysical thinking. The movie goes the seductive route, so maybe most people who watch it for the ad and the attractive name will feel deceived. The R-rating and the pre-release publicity of the film will always make people buy tickets in anticipation of the film's ambiguous ideas. Can it be said that this is the brilliant point of this movie in terms of publicity? The strategy chosen to cater to the Beats' lust-crazy obsession makes people hopeful, and what the film is really trying to say is far from what lust might be able to encapsulate. People yearn for metaphysical thinking, and this film gives us this perception. Heavy thinking leads us into the trap it sets through a perfect package with a mask of hypocrisy. Because we are powerless to refuse, we seem to have no choice but to follow. redeemed by it. Who said Hollywood is only blindly flashy. At least this movie made me see more and more perfect things than Little Japan's "Forbidden Room Cultivating Desire". Looking at this movie and that series in the same light, we can easily find that "Forbidden Room Cultivation of Desire" turns out to be almost pale. Just an erotic movie made by Japan's nationalistic desire for sadomasochism, imprisonment and captivity, how much room can we think about? This movie is more about the proposition of human redemption, and its positioning is obviously much better than "Cultivation of Desires in the Forbidden Room". In the same way, I suddenly thought that this may be the theme that the "Cultivation of Desires in the Forbidden Room" series wants to explain but can't articulate. Lazarus is a honest and devout black farmer, a blues musician who used to be a fan of the wind. The beginning of the movie is his breakup with his wife in the restaurant, and in the subsequent plot we may be able to guess his deep affection for his wife. Such as the abandoned guitar, such as the rose garden marked with his wife's name. The film's convenient depiction of details gave me a lot of room for imagination. Re-played guitars and sloppy music are the most sentimental depictions of this nearly elderly black man, betrayed by his wife and living with his younger brother, who can only sing into the empty room Songs that have been abandoned for years. Blues music and this sentimental writing complement each other, and it is no wonder that Rolling Stone once commented on the film: The film is nothing but music. Maybe not for nothing, but because all they saw was the muffled chant in a flashy image. Lazarus was a very typical black peasant, industrious, singing, pious, quiet, and industriously tilling his land with a desire for happiness. Rei, on the other hand, is a more typical fall in this typical pioneer next generation. The morbid abuse as a child cast a heavy shadow on her life, which also filled her life with morbid desires. The loss of love and a life of no dependence made her waste her life with crazy sex and drugs after her lover left. The lack of love makes her yearn for love even more madly, and the love she can hope for may only be satisfied through the venting of desire and sex. Two completely different people meet by some chance, and the movie sets up such prospects for us, and we may see more than that. Salvation in the name of love often occurs between two souls whose personalities are diametrically opposed but can only survive by relying on each other. Perhaps what this film should tell is a story about two strangers who have nowhere to go and rely on each other to keep warm. In the same way as "Cultivation of Desires in the Forbidden Room", a strange woman was raised in captivity, perhaps just to let her listen to her sadness. He puts all his love on his wife, but when the film starts, she leaves him and betrays him in a very humiliating way - to live with his brother Dirk. The melancholy tunes of blues music become the weeping confidantes of these two sad strangers, and the extravagant desires in "Cultivation of Desires" are left far behind in this film. Sex seems to be more of a distorted and depraved symbol in this film, and mutual redemption in the name of love is the true will that this film wants to express. We can easily see the shadow of the infamous "Forbidden Room" in this movie, and it is not difficult for us to see the shadowy figure of Shunji Iwai in "The Binding of Love". Under the surface of sadomasochism, bondage, and confinement, there is pure and touching holiness, which may be the biggest difference between this film and "Forbidden Room". I say, this is the American upgrade version of "Forbidden Room Cultivation", because this movie gives us thinking about life in addition to that kind of glitz. Its existence is a testament to the holiness of emotion beyond desire, and this so-called holiness may be a higher level of infatuation that we so desperately seek but cannot attain.

Blues music is a platonic communication, and the long chain around Lei becomes a symbolic image of spiritual imprisonment. At the end of the film is the release of this chain, Lazarus is freed from the memories that once made him sad but passed away, once had a peaceful and happy life that builds up his existing fatigue, when he unties this chain. When he was in chains, does it also mean that he got rid of all the shackles and ushered in a better life. Ray's attachment to Lazarus is a daughter's attachment to her father. From resistance to escape and finally dependence, all of this breaks down the barrier of hurt between two strangers and builds a precious trust. Rei's relief is a dark childhood memory and an unspeakable and unexplainable desire. "Bound of Love" gave the film a desire for love, and "Cultivation of Desire" became a hasty itinerary in the film's redemption. The theme of the movie is still the redemption of love; it has nothing to do with eroticism. Sadomasochism, bondage, and S/M are just what this flashy world demands from the movie and are wrapped in the outermost layer of gorgeousness. When this layer of paper is removed, we can see the glittering thoughts wrapped in it. The happy ending at the end of the movie gave us the hope that as long as we are sincere and trust each other, we may be able to build a better world. 2007-06-09; Jiaxu day, Bingwu month, Dinghai year.
