Going around and back again

In the old film from 1940, the introduction said that a stubborn and willful rich girl and her ex-husband divorced and prepared to enter a second marriage, but at this time, she found that her first husband was better, so she decided to start over with him.
After watching the movie, I realized that there are important plots that have not been revealed.
Why did she remarry her ex on the day she planned to marry her second husband?
On the eve of the second marriage, the rich girl continued her wild and willful nature and had a "two kisses in the swimming pool" affair with another man after being drunk, and all this was seen by the two men.
The second term could not accept her debauchery and felt angry and insulted, so he gave color and the two fell apart.
The first but unexpected understanding and acceptance, even helped her out of the predicament.
The woman suddenly discovered the difference between the two men through the way the two dealt with this matter, so she also made her own decision.
Their story is a bit of a life in desperation. The relationship between two people is sometimes so wonderful, but they find a way out in the most difficult times. Quite fun

This is definitely a story that only male screenwriters can make up, because the ending really doesn't make sense to the female audience. How could the heroine not choose James Stewart and be driven by Cary Grant at the last second, just because they are official matches , because at that time Cary was more red than James.

Katharine Hepburn is simply too good-looking, tall, thin, flat chested and thin waist is my dish. Every one of her clothes is so beautiful. Originally I didn't like Cary Grant, but he's super cute in this movie. The character characterization is not deep enough, mainly because there are many protagonists and big names. The ending doesn't seem abrupt at all. Katharine Hepburn's transformation from goddess to queen to common man isn't particularly impressive

The Philadelphia Story quotes

  • Tracy Lord: How do I look?

Seth Lord: Like a queen. Like a goddess.

Tracy Lord: And do you know how I feel?

    Seth Lord: How?

Tracy Lord: Like a human. Like a human being.

  • Macaulay Connor: [after learning that Dexter is Tracy's ex-husband and is going to help with introducing him and Liz] Holy mackerel. What goes on here?
