In fact, this film is not about revolution and love, but about how man is guided by his own nature to his destiny.

At the beginning of it, a black soldier who was kidnapped told a story, which especially touched me. The scorpion wanted to cross the river and asked the frog to help. The frog said: No, you will sting me. Scorpion said how could it be, if I sting you, I will drown! So the frog agreed to ride the scorpion across the river, and when it reached the middle of the river, the frog suddenly felt a tingling pain in its back, and it shouted, "You still stung me?" ! Scorpion also cried out sadly: I'm sorry, that's my nature, it's my nature! In the end, both the scorpion and the frog drowned.

The music is great, the plot is great, and the performance is not bad.

The Crying Game quotes

  • Jody: The scorpion and the frog. Ever heard of 'em? A scorpion wants to cross a river, but he can't swim. He goes to the frog, who can, and asks for a ride. The frog says, "If I give you a ride on my back, you'll go and sting me!" The scorpion replies, "It would not be in my interest to sting you since as I'll be on your back we both would drown." The frog thinks about this logic for a while and accepts the deal. Takes the scorpion on his back. Braves the waters. Halfway over feels a burning spear in his side and realizes the scorpion has stung him after all. And as they both sink beneath the waves a frog cries out, "Why did you sting me, Mr. Scorpion? For now we both will drown!" The scorpion replies, "I can't help it, it's in my nature."

Fergus: So what's that supposed to mean?

Jody: Means what it says. A scorpion does what is in its nature.

  • Jody: Women are trouble. Do you know that, Fergus?

    Fergus: I didn't.

Jody: Some kinds of women are.
