The story is about two orphans fighting to the death to protect the world they love and evil forces in the "Sin City" where they don't care. It is still those common themes of Japanese comics, justice and evil, killing and peace, urbanization and traditional beauty, loneliness and friendship, etc., and so on. The two protagonists are directly named Xiaohei and Xiaobai, and the symbolic meaning is completely straight. White.
These themes have always been very infectious, and the audience is very engaged. At the end of the film, everyone watched the subtitles in the dark for a long time before getting up and leaving.
