Spanish spirit

In the world of Almodóvar's cinema, it has always been crazy and chaotic. He has always looked at the world from a female perspective, and is good at stimulating people's thinking with his uninhibited moral torture style, which is why his films are so interesting. "Return" tells the "return" of three generations of women, and this film is the "return" of Almodovar. In a note about the film, he wrote: "In a sense, I'm back in comedy; I'm back in the world of women; I'm back in La Macha; I'm back in my life and the role of the source of the story. ."

"The Return" is not a surreal comedy, as sometimes it may seem. The living and the dead coexist peacefully and inspire the deepest and most sincere feelings. According to Almodóvar, it is a film about the culture of death in his hometown of La Manchad. The people there lived surprisingly simple lives, and the deceased were still living in their lives, not really dying. Smashing the black impression of Spain, revealing a completely different pure, natural, interesting, fearless, united Spain.

If this is not a film positioned as a comedy, we can still see it as a microcosm of a serious female spiritual world. With little support from male characters, three generations of women, as well as women in the world around them at the same time, encircled a stoic spiritual territory. In the turbulent Madrid, the unease caused by the background of the times has divided countless families. Hurricanes, floods, and fires have devoured everyone's life and spirit. Women can only rely on their mutual company, and their imagination and eternal beauty are almost self-deceiving. Unchanging warmth to warm each other, support and survive.

If "Big Fish" is about the relationship between father and son, then this film is about mother and daughter. Since the translation of the subtitles was so problematic, I had to watch it as a silent film, the plot of which was not very clear. It was probably that the mother had an affair with the father of a friend. These two old men were accidentally killed in a fire. This incident directly led to the estrangement between the six women. Later, the "dead" mother ran from the grave to Madrid, and gradually resolved the contradictions by observing and getting involved in the lives of her two daughters. The impressive plot is that the heroine's husband molested her daughter, and the little girl accidentally killed her father. The mother bravely took it upon herself. They had spent years trying to dispose of the corpse, from the refrigerator at home, to the freezer in the restaurant, and then to help, the car, the woods... The heroine was in flamenco With the accompaniment of the guitar, when I sang the song I learned from my mother when I was a child, the scene was quite shocking.

Almodóvar's films celebrate women, especially mothers. No matter how vulnerable men are and torment women, women are still strong and great...
