Facing Windows

Plot synopsis:
Describes a young housewife Giovanna has always dreamed of becoming a pastry gourmet,
but the heavy pressure of real life makes her almost dare not dream.
Dissatisfaction with her husband, an accidental visitor at home, an elderly man with amnesia brought about a change, and
she turned to a man named Lorenzo who lived in the opposite window who had been secretly paying attention for a long time...

As the slogan said, this is a A film about desire.
It consists of two clues, one light and one dark.
The dark line is Rome in 1943, and the bright line is Rome now.
They are separate yet interconnected, and
the man who connects the two is a man who calls himself simone and whose actual name is Davide Veroli.

Desires are ubiquitous in the film.
The difference is that some people release it,
while some people choose to suppress it in the bottom of their hearts,
and then take it out to cherish and sigh when they grow old.

I really like what the old man named Davide Veroli said to Giovanna in the film:
don't live for the sake of living . Satisfaction, you have to ask for a better life, and it's not fantasy, I didn't do that.
It's a pity that when Davide said these words, Giovanna refused to go to that beautiful island with Lorenzo.
Maybe life is like this. When you want to cherish, that person is no longer there.

The connection between the two story lines is actually far from a tight fit, and the emotional sparks are a little abrupt, but the male and female protagonists are too beautiful, even the children are beautiful, the performances are delicate, and the photography is also good-looking, so those shortcomings are Not important anymore. After thinking about it, I still have to blame the human species for being too primitive, and reason is useless...

For an Italian ethics film, it would be more appropriate to call it "Fate Without a Window". The topics of marriage and homosexuality are explored.
