redemption of the soul

When all the compliments were added to The Shawshank Redemption, 168 Hours on Death Row was clearly overlooked.
This is a mainstream movie. Just watching the movie introduction is even a bit clichéd movie, but watching this movie, I was still shocked by him, and my eyes were full of indescribable tears. I think it's thanks to Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon's great acting.
Matthew finally repented for the crimes he committed, picked up his dignity and responsibility, his soul was redeemed, and he became a child of God, but how much comfort can his death bring to the victim's family? I am also conflicted, just like the helplessness of the nun, should I sympathize with the family of the deceased, or should I feel relieved for Matthew's confession?
I don't have an answer. But the movie still allowed me to see the love and forgiveness in human nature that has never been extinguished! is so powerful!
