Survival is instinct, dying is realm

I thought a lyric from the ruins "A Graveyard" would be a good title.

Second time viewing the work of Alejandro Amenábar. Like "Open Your Eyes", the Spanish master (permit me to call him that) is still his exploration of human nature.

This time it tells the true story of Ramon Sampedro, a Spaniard who fought for euthanasia. But the style of the whole film is not the hopeless and terrifying depression of death, but it is warm. (At least me) Ramon's beautiful yearning for death may be difficult for ordinary people to understand, but for him it is the only release.

Although he wants to die, Ramon still shows a positive attitude towards life. He loves everyone around him and even becomes the driving force for some people to live. I couldn't help crying when I saw my brother arguing with Ramon. A certain emotion in the body is stimulated by the atmosphere generated by the strong dramatic conflict. Yixin does not want his younger brother to die, and wants to take care of his older brother; Yixin's younger brother wants to die. Both of them know that they have nothing to do in the face of real conflicts, but they still hold their own opinions, but in their hearts they respect and love each other with understanding. The body is helpless...

Karl Mehringer believes that both survival and death are human instincts. And suicide is not just a momentary fever, it is often caused by the potential accumulation of past behavior, environment and other factors (especially childhood), and finally caused by the trigger of something. Like Ramon (maybe this example will be special).

In the end, the movie reminds me of the song "love will tear us apart" by Joy Division, even though the song itself has nothing to do with what the movie is about. Because Ramon believes that someone who truly loves him will help him end his life.

Attachment: The full text of the lyrics of "A Graveyard".

Under the grey sky,
withered leaves flutter the ruins of hope, and the wind blows the quiet flame
of the noisy world's anticipation. Alas! Yeah! Struggling in disaster ! Yeah! act in tragedy

well! Yeah! Survival is an instinct
! Yeah! To die is to

pass through a desert and then
through an urban jungle to reach the
quiet sea and grass
, clean air and soil

! Yeah! Struggling in disaster
! Yeah! Acting in tragedy
! Yeah! Survival is an instinct
! Yeah! Death is the limit!
well! Yeah!
