"Forever Lilia" is a very sad movie to watch. At the beginning of the film, Lilia, who has a light nose and a swollen face, runs aimlessly on the street, as if escaping from something, with a look of panic and helplessness, she does not know where to go, and finally stops on a viaduct. The camera flashes back to three months ago, when Lilia, 16, happily packs her bags as she prepares to leave Russia for the United States with her mother and her mother's boyfriend. However, her oil bottle was obviously not welcome, her mother left her and left with the man alone. Lilia's pleading and crying couldn't bring back her mother's heart. Then came a series of blows. First, the aunt who promised to take care of Lilia sent Lilia to a dirty little apartment, but she occupied Lilia's original home. Lilia's best friend, a girl who went into prostitution to earn pocket money, insisted that Lilia was the prostitute in order to hide herself, making everyone around her spurn her. Before leaving, the mother who promised Lilia to send money back, not only did not hear from her for a long time, but also sent a letter directly to the social welfare agency, saying that she would give up Lilia's custody. Having experienced the abandonment of her relatives, the betrayal of her friends, and the indifference of the people around her, Lilia, who was penniless, had to really sell her body. Her only friend was a boy a few years younger than her who had been kicked out of the house by his father, Flodia. They depended on each other like siblings. Lilia used the money she earned from selling her body for the first time to buy a birthday present for Flodia - a basketball. Flodia says I've never gotten anything so good. However, the basketball was pierced by Flodia's father with scissors. Lilia met Andrea, a handsome man in a red sports car, who was polite and polite. He is like the sunshine in her life. Andrea said he was working in Sweden and invited Lilia to come back to Sweden with him. The tormented Lilia began to understand how her mother felt when she left. In this hopeless environment, who would pass up the opportunity to leave? Even abandoning his own daughter. Although she knew that she was going to leave Flodia, and despite her repeated warnings about the loopholes in Andrea's words, Lilia left as reluctantly as her mother had done. Leaving Flodia holding the broken basketball and sitting alone at the door of Lilia's house, the despairing little boy committed suicide by taking medicine. What awaits Lilia in Sweden is not the warm two-person world that Andrea calls it, but the ruthless pimps and endless insults. Lilia was betrayed again, and so thoroughly, more cruelly than ever. After being beaten up for an attempt to escape, Lilia finds out that the pimp forgot to lock the house door, slips out, and starts running. This is the shot we see at the beginning of the film. But she can run Where to go? Find the police and go back to Russia? She has nothing there, she has nothing in this world. Lilia jumped off the viaduct.

Directed by Swedish director Lukas Moodysson, this Danish-Swedish co-production is a heart-wrenching stab at a desperate and tangible world. The narrative style of this film is similar to the "Long Island Highway Boys" that I saw not long ago. The film tells the life of a fifteen-year-old boy Howie. It also starts with the protagonist wandering on the viaduct, and then Flashback to some time ago. However, compared to Lilia, Howie feels a little bit of a moan. Lilia's pain was so real, so real that it made people feel ashamed that they couldn't do anything about it, ashamed of the world. Lilia's despair is so complete that people feel that only death is the best release, and heaven is her only paradise. Howie didn't jump off the viaduct because there was still hope and choice in his life, and when Lilia jumped, she had no choice. At the end of the film, as Lilia is dying, she thinks back on if she had obeyed Phlodia, if she had decisively said no to Andrea, if... But without these ifs, at every turn of life there was no What can keep her. What if she stayed in Russia? Now Lilia and Flodia, who have wings, can play basketball happily. The sun seems to be shining on their faces for the first time, and every pore is shining brightly. This kind of happiness - only in heaven.
