, I should know very little about the stories in the Bible, and I am even more ignorant of the connotation and purpose of the Bible. I don't know if the content of this film is faithful to the original, so I just don't have a comparison when I watch it.
Documentary forms, amateur actors, Pasolini-esque allegories, strange communist hideaways. The overall feeling of the film is not as
impactful , but its allegorical style is particularly prominent. Of course, the power of communism is even more invincible here. What I don't understand a bit is, are Jesus and his disciples really like communist youths? With astonishing persistence to resist the "three mountains" like Rome.
After watching the movie, I confirmed what the author of Journey to the West said. In the eyes of the Chinese, Mao Zedong was not
deified by the people like the proletarian leaders of European countries.
