In a good thriller, the most important thing is the script. It has to be unexpected and worthy of careful scrutiny, otherwise it will either be dull or a bad ending will turn the whole film into a boring conspiracy. Half Light takes all of these two shortcomings, and it can be considered rare.
With the experience of watching Flight Plan last time, I have been mentally prepared for this so-called "three people become tigers" kind of thriller. Half Light is more thorough, not even half a good movie. After reading the beginning, you can see who is not a good person, and after seeing half of it, you can guess the general plot. If I want to get the ending, I will go to watch the performance of the potential criminal, and talk to the heroine with such a sincere expression in a place where no one else is. I just want to shout: I know you are not a good person, don’t pretend to be so tired. . The final ending is bad enough. If that person is a person, why did he change so quickly? If it's a ghost, I don't understand, why some ghosts can be seen and some can't, and also, ghosts can die and die again?
Maybe the director's purpose is to reveal human nature in a more in-depth and delicate way, and to preach that love can eventually overcome betrayal, but the overall feeling is that it is one thing and one that loses another.
The whole film can give the highest score is the music, followed by the Scottish scenery. The rest, lackluster.
