A not scary horror movie

This is a horror movie that is not scary, although it is under the banner of a Hitchcock-style horror movie, it is only similar in appearance and nothing in it. Saying this at the beginning does not mean that this movie is useless. It should be regarded as the kind of movie that makes you forget that it is a horror movie after watching it, but you still feel that it is a bit interesting. Although the rhythm is slow, the plot also feels a bit raw.

The director of the film is very strange, and he has an extraordinary attention to detail. For example, it was emphasized at the beginning that the heroine did not use a computer, but only a typewriter, but in the end this detail was not used at all. Seems like a basic drama mistake, right? And the most important thing in horror films is music, but in this film, lyrical and slow orchestral music is used a lot, which made me wonder if I went to the wrong theater when I saw it about halfway. In addition, in the film, almost all the classic horror scenes used in other horror films are shown again without innovation. For example, the problem of taking pictures, auto-respelling letters on the refrigerator, toys that move by themselves, and nightmares and water-soaked footprints.

As for the overall plot, let's not talk about it, the process and the end can be guessed almost from the beginning. The only difference in the film is that the ghost of the heroine's son is to save his mother. Unfortunately, this set has long been used in the American series "Ghost Whisperer".

Is that movie worth watching? I think it's very worthwhile, my compatriots, to grab a bag of potato chips or a bunch of melon seeds on a gloomy rainy day and sit on the sofa and watch. By the way, you can also send a message or pull a partner to watch and chat together.

Half Light quotes

  • Rachel Carlson: Why is it everyone paints their boats the exact same color as their houses?

Angus McCulloch: Well, that's actually a tradition here. The wife needs to be able to look out on the water and know her husband's okay.

    Rachel Carlson: That's very romantic.

Angus McCulloch: And we also get a tax-break on the paint, which is also very romantic.
